    Hello!

The issue started this morning. Headlights/foglights are set to auto. Noticed that the lights wouldn't turn off in auto mode while on the freeway in broad daylight. Also, the dashboard, AC, every other light in the dash is very dim. As soon as I go under a bridge or under a tree, or in a shadow area, the dashboard goes back to bright and the headlights are on. When I go back into the sun, the dash gets super dim and the headlights/foglights remain on in auto mode.

My 2021 Tacoma is about 2 weeks old and this just started this morning. Changed out the cab lights to LEDs and added Diode Dynamic foglights yesterday afternoon. Could this be the issue or do or can this be fixed by some setting on the home screen/settings display

Any help you be greatly appreciated!

Dash dimming is SOP when headlights are on. It's assuming it's dark and softens the lights to improve your night vision.

If you put your lighting mods back to stock you'd prove or disprove them being a problem.

And if the problem still exists, it really should be in stock form for your upcoming warranty work anyway.

Well, the lights are set for auto and don't go off in the daylight. All I changed were the bulbs. Have done that a hundred times on my last five tacomas.

    I understand.

But sometimes dealers point fingers at mods to be related to problems.

And IT Change Management asks when something breaks, what was the last thing that changed?

    So, I just suggested both.

Good luck and let us know the problem is resolved!

Just drove it around and now it's not doing it. Have noticed quite a few bugs in the dashboard since buying this. Thanks for the input.
