Headlight DRL wiring help

Buy OEM LED. I’ll throw in a free harness. Resell these if you can.

 

There is one best option for headlights, Oem led.

there are two reasonable choices which are less than ideal. Morimoto xb v2 for max output (I can post the thread if you need it) and the Oem halogens the truck came with (nearly free). To me, the labor is worth spending on Oem led but if time is cheap for you, buy someone’s takeoff halogen TRD headlights and put Philips H9’s in both low and high beams. They should plug right in. Shouldn’t cost more than $200, ideally sub $100.

 

I am betting there is something where that sidemarker light is supposed to be where it would get the parking signal from. It isn’t getting it anywhere else, that’s for sure

 

If you want a chrome-o-riffic set of SR headlights, I’ll send you some for the cost of shipping . No DRL on those though, at least not as set up.

 

OP is OffRoad. He is also in my town. Maybe post a wtb in Washington / Oregon Craigslist thread. I bet someone still has halogens sitting around after the swap. Maybe @Bertw192 ?

 

I mentioned that, but I don't see an input for a DRL signal.

I don’t think it has one. Uses park to drive the “DRL” like you were guessing?

Well, after looking at the manufacturer website (bought these from Extreme Terrain, an aftermarket vendor). Apparently these will not work, as @daveeasa mentioned, on a TRD Off-road (anything TRD I think must come with DRL’s)

 

Johnny, Caribe and perhaps even myself could likely “get” then “working” but they will still suck and aren’t worth the time. You desire good performing optics and that means OEM headlights. It’s a safety issue more than an aesthetic concern.

 

That plug on the bottom (light gray) is a TRD turn signal.

Yeah, I was just pointing out that they seem to made for the TRD trims. Poorly made for sure, but made for them none the less

 

I found some new ones on eBay, black housing from a Limited. I’ll just sell these I suppose - although I really like the “halo” on these.

Btw, if anyone is interested I’ll post these up in the proper thread once I install the replacements.

 

Limiteds would have come with chrome like OffRoad and sport. Post the auction? Don't be fooled by knockoffs, there are a ton out there, they are not OEM quality.
