I would assume you would have to sand before you paint correct? mine are currently painted chrome and I want them black so what would be the best way to get a nice paint job?

Sanding is optional, when I finish mounting my fxrs on the reflector I'm painting them at the same time as the housing, I'm just going to clean them up with alcohol and paint. Plenty of guys on that have not sanded and no one that I know has any issues from not sanding.

Krylon fusion, clean really well, wipe with alcohol, then make sure its all dust fee. a few coats of the fusion should work ok. and when you put it all back together seal the sh1t out of everything, theres a lot there to leak

    How you do this?

I've done a few and two I had no leaks but the gas haze. I had to reopen and clean it. Now I got no issues.

Well I am planning on making some retros real soon, as far as I am concerned this is just practice. and the projectors on these are holding up fine and I have been running the 55w for 5 months or so.

No I agree good method. Yes maybe over kill but if it causes you not to have to go back and redo it them that's a good thing.

I've been asked to do this mod many of times and I always tell them give me a good two three days to get it done and they don't wanna wait and want it done in 8 hours

Yes it can be done in 8 hours but like me you will prolly have to reopen and clean the haze off.
