So I have a 2019 off road and my driver side headlight out. Installed new light and nothing so I tried a regular halogen h11 bulb and still nothing. Tested to see if it was getting power and there was none. Pulled the fuse box and replaced the left hi lo beam fuse and got power.

Went to go turn them on today and they no longer are working. They’re just a cheap 6000k hid I know HIDs aren’t the best but I have ran them for years on my other vehicles no issue. So I assume there is a short somewhere but not sure where to look.

My knowledge is limited to say the least in this kinda stuff. Any advice would be appreciated would like to avoid the dealer.

Pull all the aftermarket stuff, put it back to stock and see if the fuse blows again.

Will try the two suggestions above but any reason it just happened out of no where I’ve had these lights installed for 20k miles about 14 months.

Like others have said, Put back to stock and let dealer figure it out. Thats what the warranty is for

Doesn’t sound like you are running a relay harness for your HIDs. Ballasts draw high power at startup, a 35w unit should be able to run without a harness, however using a cheap Chinese unit there is no guarantee it will meet specs. The startup draw may exceed the circuit capacity and blow the fuse. And just because it worked at one time, doesn’t mean it will continue to do so. The ballast could be wearing out leading to higher power draw at startup than before. Swap your ballasts from left to right and see if the problem moves to the other side.

Could be something internally shorted out in the ballast.

Thanks for the replies I know they’re shitty lights lol. I have a new ballast I will throw on when I replace the fuse.

if that doesn’t do the trick I’ll go grab some halogen bulbs.

swap the ballast to the other side and if the driver side goes out then it's that ballast. If the issue stays on the passenger side then look at the bulb being the culprit

Thanks everyone. Is it common on most vehicles for each headlight to have its own fuse? I ignored the fuse box for a while thinking it was bad connection or faulty bulb because the other head light was still lit.

I don't know for fact but it makes sense to have them on separate circuits. If 1 blows then you still have your other headlight working. Kinda like the brake system

Go with LED's they give a good clean light if you choose correctly. A good source to select a Projector or Reflector LED bulb is at Bulb Facts. You'll see which bulb fits you best in terms of cost and performance.I went with Hikari and these work excellent. $.02
