Headlight problem

My headlight is not the problem specifically but my bulbs and i cannot seem to get them to turn off they will go from regular to dim and i cant figure out how to completely shut them off

I have a 2002 Prerunner SR5

Can anyone help me out with this

I know stock that is normal. Mine does it.. think a mod is needed to be able to have the driving lights off ..someone else will chime in.

 

Its very annoying having my lights on 24/7

 

They do turn off when you turn off your truck right?
They just turn on when you take off the ebrake?

 

They turn iff when i turn my truck off but like i can turn all my other lights completely off but they stay on and i didnt mean they never turned off i just meant like day or night if my trucks on so are my lights no mattef what

 

well i have a 97 not sure if its the same as 2002.. but mine definitely don't stay on all the time. there are 3 settings: completely off, side lights on, then the last setting is headlights & side lights on. maybe you have your high beams on??

 

Yeah mine is all lights on
Side lights and brake lights off
Side lights and brake lights off again

My headlights dont go off in any of those unless my engine is not running

 

So sounds like you have the DRL option "Day time running lights"

Same thing with my sisters matrix, cut one wire and it's fixed
