Andrew from TRS(www.theretrofitsource.com) has an account on here and is giving a discount for retrofit kits. Yes they are expensive but they are top quality when it comes to lighting. you will spend north of $250 (and there are a few members here offering retrofit services for a fee)

HID is the bulb/light (High Intensity Discharge) and you need a projector to correctly "harness" the light and "project" it onto the road. normal halogen headlights are not designed to properly reflect the light waves from HID bulb and that's why you get the "glare" from the morons that do this (really hate the Chevy people who think they are cool).

http://www.slimshidxenonsource.com/ and theretrofitsource are both good.

Pretty much, HID's are just the bulbs. THEY ARE BRIGHT!!!! They're those super bright lights you see on Mercedes and BMW's. A projector is just a clear tube that projects the HID on the road, rather than all over the place. Think of flashing a flashlight in front of you vs flashing a flashlight through a tube of wrapping paper in front of you...the projector just directs the super bright beam of light where it's supposed to go.

Yes you can paint the reflector black if you get projectors. Use hid's lightly while projectors use hid bulbs. When I hear someone say I have hid's around here atleast . its just bulbs in stock housing... And as I stated its in safe

You could always go the route of buying an EBAY projector. those are designed to be used with the stock type halogen bulbs and work fine....

they are significantly cheaper than going with a retrofit.
