+1 To what he ^ said. Once polished, they will yellow/oxidize pretty quick if not sealed/clearcoated

Okay, just picked up the 3M kit at the local hardware store (Walmart didn't have it).

I notice it doesn't come with a sealer, strange... so what should I use to seal the lenses once I've polished them up?

    Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if I can just spray the 303 aerospace protectant on the lenses after I polish them to seal them?

I used this. Also comes with a sealer. Worked great. Got it at Wal-Mart
for around $16 - $17. Sits on the self in a box. Before I put the sealer on,
I buffed the headlights with 3m rubbing compound.

By far the best $20 and 1 hour spent of my recent life. The pictures do it no justice on how much clearer the lenses are now.

I cannot wait to see the difference at night and/or this winter when driving down the passes in a shitstorm at night.

Sorry for the ensuing pic-whoring, I'm just kinda giddy

    Thank you.

It was so simple. Honestly the saying really does go, "if I could do it, anyone can."

I used the 3M kit and followed their directions. The only thing I added to it was I hit it up with 303 protectant after it was all said and done.

    Pointers I may suggest:

Lift the hood. A lot less masking that way. I just threw a towel over the engine and its components. If you go as light as they suggest you won't see any residue or splatter make it onto the towel.

Clean the sanding pads a lot as you go to unclog them. While you do that wipe the lens free of any powder/dust. It makes the sanding process a lot easier and more uniform, thus a much better result.

Lastly: I probably should have done the corners but I held off because I didn't know if I'd have enough sanding pads left. Turns out I probably don't. So I'll have to buy more to do the corners. But my primary concern were the headlight lenses.
