Hey everyone I’m running Farhen led bulbs for my hi/low beam. I can’t seem to get the factory clip in over my led bulbs. Anyone know if a different clip or retainer I can get? Or does anyone have a picture of their setup?

First in telling you not to run leds in the stock halogen housing if that’s what you’re doing.

The clips for the factory headlights are one of the persnickety problems with these trucks. If they break off and you lose them, or they don't fit, there isn't any source of compatible replacements that I am aware of, and replacing the factory clip with a different clip is a lot of plastic surgery and not just a pop off, pop on job.

There is a TON of well written headlight info in this thread in the OP's posts:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-headlight-upgrade-h4-not-led-or-hid.398066/

That same OP has other great writeups testing and explaining all kinds of lights - smart guy, I think he's actually an electronics enginerd.

The same shit everyone else has.
It’s a sign to not put LED bucks in halogen housings.

Do you know of any factory style housings that will support an led bulb. I’m not a fan of any light bar/projector I’d want them to be as close to stock as possible

Also just wondering why is it a bad idea to run led bulbs in stock housing?

The reflectors are not designed for the way the light output is from LEDS. It sprays the light everywhere instead of directing at the road. You will be blinding oncoming traffic.

I see I thought it was a mechanical/electrical issue. I have my bulbs angled they’re very bright but my beam pattern is set to not blind everyone

So turn them on. And walk 30yards away. Then look back. Then you’ll see what oncoming drivers see. If you haven’t already.

But thats the thing. The beam pattern goes out the window with anything other than halogen bulbs in there. The LED bulbs change the position of the light source in relation to the mirrors/reflectors that are built into the housing. Halogens use that little filament, LEDs use a diode. They try to get the diode in the exact same spot as the halogen filament but it's never exact. It's in a different spot

The result is the light won't reflect down the road correctly. It scatters and goes up into the trees and the eyes of oncoming drivers.

Just because the light appears brighter standing in front of the vehicle doesn't mean the light is going down the road in a useful manner.

That ultimate headlight thread posted above is very well written.
