Headlight switch removal info needed.

    97 Taco and I need a how to on changing the headlight- turn signal switch, would appreciate any info.

    It looks like it's just two screws holding it in place (see attached)

    Just remove the trim around the steering column and you can get to it.

    Also once you get those screw outs, nice thing is there are no wires you have to cut. The headlight switch has an integrated electrical harness that you just unplug. Then you just plug the new one in, screw in and done. Takes only 2 minutes to change out once you have the plastic from the steering column off.

    If you turn your lights on and they go black, then this is your solution after checking the fuses. The headlight switch assembly only costs $50 for an aftermarket one.

    I pulled one from a junk yard for 6$. Bring your old one with you as you will find that other Toyota's are the same. However, some have a slightly different bend in the stalk itself. The one I am using is pulled off a Corolla and it's been going strong for 1 year.
