I got on the site to buy some MGM plates but they were sold out right now, so I figured for $35, I would live on the edge and get a set of Inferno! I’ve always been a fan of deep orange/red accents on dark grey, so figured I would give it a shot. I’m digging it.
I have some basic 3” TRD black font decals on order that I might throw on them to see how it looks. But for now I am really liking it.
I know it is the complete opposite of the intended goal, but I figure it’ll just highlight the cool stuff coming out of this company.
Well done ME-SO. Keep the good stuff coming.

Is there an instructional video people prefer for showing how to remove the bumper? I watched two different ones, and I swear I removed all the clips, but I found myself pretty rigidly stuck with something around the fog light area. Bumper cover wouldn't move at all, and I was really hesitant to yank any harder.

You’ll find some posts where they were able to just loosen the bumper and you’ll be able to get the trim plates in enough to tighten the screws. I haven’t seen anyone post a video and I’m waiting to see if anyone does because I have my trim plates waiting LOL

I tried to wrestle the cover around to get to the lower screw but had no luck. Whatever was holding it in near fog light was prevent that too.

Does anyone have a picture of the backside of the cover, and the structure behind it? I'd feel a lot more comfortable about yanking, if I just knew where the body clips were.

I used the following video. It shows what you need to take off more or less.

Thanks, but I'm still baffled. Once he popped the fender flare trim off, he pulled the corner of the bumper off without much effort. I was hauling on mine pretty good and it still felt like it was secured firmly. I removed all the same connectors he did. :annoyed:

I removed all the screws and clips. Then I pushed the bumper from the inside where it meets the fender and it came loose

Alright, finally got the bumper off. Here's are some lessons learned:

Pull away (outwards from the wheels), not forward, on the outside of the bumper. This black clip is bolted to the inner body (red circle). You need to get the clips (green) up and over ridges on the bumper cover. A plastic body tool shoved under the plastic tabs to lift them up helped. Wish I knew what this looked like before I started yanking, that hole circled in red is not supposed to be that open...I ripped the plastic out. There was just enough left for me to cram a metal washer in there and torque it down to pinch the remaining plastic. In retrospect sharp outward yanks on the cover would have worked better, but I had the fender flare in the way preventing that. I might suggest removing it entirely if you're going to tackle this.

Be careful not to tilt the bumper too far upwards. I was not, and my paint suffered. I'll get in there with a detail brush and some touch up paint when the weather is better.

End results! Still not entirely sure how I feel about them, the black definitely gave the front a different look. Consider how much work it took though, I guess I'll leave it for now.

If you add the red or inferno to your Black truck, post some pics as I’m considering the same thing:wink:

Got a beauty shot today. Alright, I like it now. Makes the headlights look...angrier? (Peep the MESO mirror turn signals too!)

EXACTLY. It accentuates the lines of the headlights and makes them look more aggressive. Also much easier to clean, so I think it’s a win-win.

    I don’t think I’ve posted my plates here yet;

The blackout plates you have replacing the "TRD Pro" lights are great. Why did they have to make them chrome?! Really don't feel like baking and splitting my headlights, but I have a feeling it's happening eventually...

Much better. Decals finish off the accent nicely.

@MESO Any chance you'd sell a variation of these black plates that you made for inside the new headlights? Maybe with the option of "TRD" in the text?
