Now I know way to much about a subject I can really careless about.

I will use sun tan lotion with pf20 in it on mine. Wait or just buy a new truck in 6 years when they get crapy.

Ha yeah I hear ya. I'm a little OCD with my truck. It's really not even that I care that it's clean. It's more like a hobby. I enjoy the process. I'm in an apartment, so no yard work. Truck detail gives me an excuse to head down to the "garage" and do a little something "around the house".

The Meguires headlight protectant smells like suntan lotion. FYI. Coppertone, to be precise.

Ha I thought exactly the same thing as I was applying it. It even has the exact same texture to it. My bros 4Runner headlights are pretty bad after just 5 years. I figure if I can avoid that for 6 bucks and 3 minutes every couple of months, maybe it'll be worth it. I plan to have the truck for awhile.

Nothing wrong with that.I am a tad less OCD about my truck. In fact its outside while the Miata is garaged. Mostly because I am driving the truck to break it in. Once it has 1000 miles on it I will be driving the Miata unless I need a truck.

Apartment living is rough on a car. Unless you can rent a garage. I enjoy putting around the truck and the car. But I am not as OCD as I was about the Corvettes..I was sick OCD with those. Couldn't enjoy them. I bought white for a reason. I like the dark colors like red and Inferno better but I would be running them through a car wash if they got too dirty which kills the finish on dark vehicles

Although I just did the bed with 303........Until I can get my Truxport Tonneau.

IMO 303......That's why you find it at RV and Boat stores. It works as it should. Not that Maguires is bad, but why not use what people who have RVs and Boats use. Those things live in the sun and harsh conditions. Rag top users like 303 as well.

By the looks of it I would go with 303. This is a great way to keep my new retrofits I'm getting next month looking like new.

I tried the Meguires first. In the summer heat, it began to evaporate from the dash and glove box within a week. It starts with little spots appearing on the surface. Then it gets splotchy little spots all over that grow. I asked about it on the Meguires online website and they assured me it wasn't hurting anything. I think it's a water based product and it simply evaporates off. It didn't look bad at first. I could wipe it down until it was no longer shiny/greasy and it looked nice. It just didn't last, whereas one application of the 303 lasts for weeks, if not months.

I like these wipes because you can use them on the radio screen and also they don't leave a shine on the dash that reflects back on your windshield from the street lights in town when it is dark.

Like some of you, I couldn't find 303 protectant at any of the local auto supplies. Was about to just get online and order some, but took a chance and found it at Gander Mountain in the boating section. I not only put it on the headlights, but also the bed rails, the fender flares, front bumper and step pads on the back bumper. We've been getting a lot of rain lately so I need to reapply it.

This is the glove box a week after application of the Meguires Natural Shine Protectant. If I reapplied, the spots would disappear. I finally just took a wet microfiber and wiped it all off as best I could and made the switch to 303. Granted, this was in July, so I'm sure it was 130° in the cab on some days when the truck was parked outside. It did hold up better at more moderate temps, but the same thing happened, just not as quickly. Long story short, the 303 just doesn't spot like this. It holds up for several weeks no matter what the conditions.

Agreed. Hoping they have them pre-made for the 3rd gen when my arrives next month, otherwise I'll have to buy a sheet and make my own...

I used clear Laminx on mine. Did my headlights right and after getting my retros I couldn't see them go to hell. So far they've been awesome. Look brand new. If they start to oxidize or I can't get bug goo off, or whatever, I can just take it back and peel the old stuff off and reapply. $30 upfront now will save me whatever price of repair later.
