Headlights Cracking

Thanks for the info! I wonder if there is a company out there that will sell just the clear lens. It would work out with the BHLM to pull the old one off, paint/convert to halo, and glue on a new lens. I've searched but haven't come up with anything yet. I like having OEM parts.

 

A Lot of us have the lens cracking, and you like having OEM parts?

 

OEM core, aftermarket lens.

 

That's how mine started earlier this year. I haven't been paying too much attention as they still work, but I think the drivers side has developed some cracks also.

 

It says without sport package, Whats different about my sport than a base regarding the headlight lens?

 

I see this is an old subject,just wanted to let you know when my 2010 Tacoma was 6 months old both of the headlight lens were cracking. just so happened when i was at the dealership in Oneida ny about the problem the Toyota service rep was there and he claimed I had aftermarket bulbs installed. I said to him bring the truck back to the service area and look for any disturbed dust from finger marks that would be there if i have ever been there . After checking then he changed his story and said i hit something. I said how could i hit something just exactly at both headlights only . After arguing he finally said they would warranty this one time. One month after my warranty was expired one headlight cracked and my horn stopped working . I confirmed the horn didn't work because of a open circuit in the spiral or clock spring (behind the steering wheel) I called Toyota and opened a case .They said the cracked headlight and the spiral cable problem would have to be confirmed by the dealer as i knew had to be done and if confirmed they would take care of it under warranty. The spiral cable was a recall problem for all 2009 and older . The dealership confirmed cable was faulty but denied warranty and charged me a hour labor but did replace the second headlight and asked if I wanted the cable installed not warranty i pay,No way. I purchased a OEM cable on line 1/2 price and installed it myself. I filed a complaint with Toyota .I thought Toyota would be better than GM for warranty ,Nope !!! I currently waiting for Toyota same dealer for warranty on my 2017 Tacoma with 17k miles the radio locks up randomly (stops working)radio was replaced last year for not being able to pull up my text msg. and also the lens to the speedometer has a crack dead center from the bottom up 3/4'' and a second crack 1/2'' to the rh just starting.Of course the dealer said i hit it with something, yet no marks on it.Waiting for a answer.
