So it’s wintertime, my 2020 seems to have a issue with the headlights during the nighttime when I am on a slippery road.. once my traction control light goes on I can visibly see my headlights flicker a bit, but only when the traction control is on. Does this happen for anyone else? It’s not too severe but it is noticeable. Think it will get worse?

Sounds like a loose grounding point somewhere.

My ‘13 does it on extended braking on ice. Think it’s the PCM getting scared & preparing for impact. After all, not like they can scream.

It's likely just because your truck is doing like 13 things at once in an effort to correct the slippage... Does it happen while you're hearing the brakes firing off and the ecm is working overtime to regulate wheel spin and right the truck? Maybe just an intermittent dip in headlight voltage due to all the processes using up juice? Kind of like when headlights dim when the bass drops in vehicles with crazy big sound systems?

I had an 2018 sport that did the same thing, I believe its the abs module drawing enough current to draw down the electrical system some.

Or it's a feature to let oncoming traffic know that you out of control and to stay clear lol

Voltage drop from the pump and solenoids placing extra demand on the electrical system. If it's new or severe it may be an indication of something unhealthy in the electrical system such as a weak battery or poor system ground.

I’ve had my 2020 sport for two winters now and I have had the traction control kick in several times but have never had my lights flicker.

Mine does that. I attributed that to the fact that with now that I work from home, I don`t drive it enough and battery is not fully charged. Way too many short trip to school for kids at less than a mile.

Will try to monitor if it`s still the case when I drive longer and battery can charge up.

edit: it`s not really flicker, but you see they lose a bit of power.

That is really rough on the battery, shortens life quite a bit. You can get a NOCO battery tender for around $30, put it on overnight once a week.

The ABS modulator draws a lot of current to pulse that brake fluid that fast. Still get your charging system checked, Alternator, battery, check all ground wires.

Every vehicle I’ve owned the headlights dimmed when the antilock brakes engaged.

Normal, as mentioned @stevesnj , the ABs system draws a lot of power.
I’ve had other vehicles do the same.
