The harness I got with aftermarket headlights did not work. I am dealing with the exact same issue as the above thread. So I purchased your harness and it just shipped hoping the last one I got from a different seller was just faulty and yours will work perfect! But otherwise I have the same problem as the above thread

It doesn’t seem likely that the harness is a problem. There just isn’t much that can really go wrong.

    Sorry my issue continues….

    I have a 2021 TRD Offroad

    - Had Factory Halogen with DRL

    - I upgraded to Aftermarket LED and the Low Beams wont turn on. But when I connect my low beams to my high beams they work. Both 10A fuses blow when I change them immediately on contact. Also now my tail lights wont go on at night. Any tips or ideas I changed relay and still it did nothing and fuse still blew.

You’d need to define aftermarket led and provide pictures and product detail for me to help.

And they came with a harness? Take photos of the connectors showing wires on both sides.

The black h9 connectors are reverse polarity.
On the harness, black represents ground.
On the truck, white with a black stripe represents ground.
The above applies to all 4 of the connectors, driver and passenger, low and high beam.

Conversion harness looks like it uses green for high beam and brown for low beams? That appears to be a random wire color choice.

The truck has these for the positive side, all negative/grounds are white w black stripe
Driver High Beam == solid white (do not get confused with the ground which is white w a black stripe)
Driver Low Beam == solid red
Passenger High beam == solid yellow
Passenger Low Beam == solid blue

Flip the connector polarity around such that black on the harness goes to white w black stripe on the truck, replace fuses, you should be in business.

The tabs may not align properly, if so their harness is mis-pinned and it is possible to de-pin and re-pin using a 1.5mm flathead screwdriver but it's easy to destroy the cheap male h9 connectors doing so. Also easy to get new ones though.

Harness does not look particularly nice to me but that's subjective.

Or, in pictures rather than words:

This one is wrong, flip it:

This one is correct, keep as-is:

So could I use your harness with these headlights ?

Also with this wire set up my blinkers, hazards, DRL and High beams all work as intended just as an fyi! But I will review your response and play with it again tomorrow ! Thank You

eBay headlights deserve an eBay harness.

nothing to be gained by changing that piece.

DRL, turn and parking lights aren’t possible to connect wrong. High and low beam can be swapped or flipped. Hence 4 ways to connect and only one way is correct.

Yes. But you are allowed to whine about it as well as agonize about chrome vs pro badging

So I did what you said and that was the issue, replaced the fuses and good to go, but now my tail lights and license plate lights wont turn on. Brake Lights and Reverse Lights and Directional all work fine. The 7.5 amp fuse (tail) keeps blowing under the dash. The tail lights in the back of the truck are OEM Toyota Pro Tail Lights from Toyota not Ebay.

What do you have connected to the sidemarker connectors on the headlights? Most harnesses won’t use them and many (including mine) send waterproof caps for them.

you troubleshoot this one by disconnecting until replacing the fuse and turning on parking lights doesn’t blow the fuse. Refer to your instrument lights or license plate lights to confirm parking circuit is on. Then reconnect things until it pops and you found the root cause.

Taillight and plate light parking wire is green. Up front it’s different on the DRL connector vs sidemarker. DRL connector parking light is pink on driver side and blue on passenger side. Sidemarker are yellow and purple and I get them confused as to side.

Start by unplugging the eBay harness entirely, that’s the first one to rule out. Then anything else you’ve modified.
