I have a 2007 SR5. Should there be a tone when the headlights are on when the ignition is turned off? I believe every vehicle I've owned for the last 20 years had a tone. I don't in my Tacoma. I do see the green indicator on the instrument panel. Looked in the manual:

Because of this feature, maybe there is nothing audible?

Don’t have a tone in mine either, just the idiot light. They do turn off when you pop the door though, verified through many night shifts. So there’s that.

No tone. They turn off automatically when the door is opened. After you open the door you can cycle the switch to turn them on with the truck off.

Exactly, since they turn off when the driver's door is opened there's no reminder.
Just be aware they will not auto turn off if any other door is opened, only with the driver's door.

Why would you need a chime when they will turn themselves off?

Ok good to know the auto-off feature is there. Never had that feature before but it's a good one.
