You're in the 2nd gen forum. We don't know anything about all your computer controlled 3rd gen gizmos. Since your truck is brand new, maybe ask the dealer.

Mine does this sometimes also I have come to realize that where I look at my switch in the door jamb that activates the lights and the dome light that it has a little indention where it doesn't released perfect every time when I open my door if my lights are on if I wiggle that it'll turn right off

Yes mine are the same way they stay on until the door is opened. And since my truck is older sometimes my little light plunger on my door gets hung up so I have to reach back and wiggle it and then the headlights shut off

wow .. i'm just now coming across this thread ... this has puzzled me for years. I thought I was going crazy b/c sometimes the lights would auto off and other times stay on and I knew there was some order of steps. Thx. Brightened my day. ha.

OP- any resolution? Mine does the same. Nothing to do with the door. My dash light indicator stays somewhat lit up when my headlights are “off” even with truck on and stays lit up even when headlights are off and truck off

Driver side door switch was broken! Wouldn’t tell the car that the driver side door opened up and closed when I left the vehicle. Got it switched out no problem.

Mine has been doing this off and on for the past couple of years. It'll start acting up, usually after a heavy rain or some other wet or humid weather, then a week or so later, gone. I haven't been able to track down the cause yet, but I have replaced the body ecu, multifunction switch, bulbs, relays...

Did you find a cause? Searching online it seems like there are a bunch of people who have been experiencing the same problem, but I have not seen any resolution to it yet.
