Headrest are stuck

Okay so I recently bought a 2013 tacoma double cab and I found that the rear outside (not middle) head rests cannot me removed. I think they may have been pushed in the wrong orientation. And no matter what I have tried, even with 2 people wrenching on them they do not come out. Yes i am pressing the release button. The head rests prevent me from dropping the seats forward which is really annoying. If anyone knows how to perhaps look at the innards of the headrest mechanism that is my next step. Let me know if you have encountered the same issue and how you got the head rests out.
