Headrest Removal

2015 Double-Cab

I am trying to remove the rear seat headrests so I can fold down the seats. But the headrest on the driver's side won't come out. I push on the release button but it simply will not lift out. It's stuck.

I tried shooting some silicone spray on the metal rod hoping it would soak down and loosen it up but no luck and there is no way to get like a piece of wood in there to try an pry it out because is nothing to pry against.

Any suggestions on how to remove it?

 

It's probably in backwards.
