I'm curious to see if anyone has tried to convert their plain front two headrests into DVD playing screens? Considering doing this myself so the kid can watch a movie while on the road.
    Any thoughts?

I'd suggest hooking an iPad to the headrest. Cheaper, can be updated as tech changes, and reversible.

A Samsung tablet with preloaded content would be way cheaper than anything that could be built into the headrest. With wiring, DVD players, audio you are looking at a major expense. iPads are sweet but expensive too.

With the right mounting hardware you can attached the iPad or other tablets to your headrest.

Toyota makes a headrest mount for tablets.

It thought about this too as iPads and tablets are hard to manage. Back in 1998 I had some aftermarket headrests with dvd screens in my Nissan Titan. Kids loved it and my Pioneer HU allowed me to listen to music up front while the kids watched a movie in the back.
