OK Marie, Here's my story and hope you can help.

I have a stock 2005 Tacoma DCSB OR that I bought new in 2004. Frame was replaced at my local Toyota dealership a couple months ago via the "Rusty Frame Replacement Campaign." Frame replacement included new OEM rear leaf packs. Immediately after I received the truck back from the dealership, it looked and felt like a new truck and I fell back in love with it! So, in anticipation of another 11 years of ownership, I started upgrading with minor stuff like new brakes, rotors, and new Bilstein 5100's all around.

Well, now I want to add more stuff like aluminum skids (~110 lbs), sliders, front recovery/receiver (~45 lbs), portable winch/receiver mount (~85 lbs.) I'm also considering an A.R.E. Truck Cap ~225 lbs (still undecided.)

Now, all of this adds significant weight. So now I need to lift this bad boy up to manage this weight and keep the front and rear level.

I'm looking for a 1.5"-2" lift front and rear, while keeping my 5100's. I know I can bring up the front with the 5100's anywhere from 0.8 to 2.5" with the stock coils and the rear can go up same height with blocks or a shackle lift, but I'm limited to 1.5" lift because of my rear 5100's.

This is a daily driver that goes on occasional off road excursions. So would like to keep the good on-road manners, but be more off-road capable than stock (although not too crazy.)

For the front I'm thinking OME 884's with 5100's set at zero. To correct the driver's side lean, maybe a 1/4" spacer?
For the rears I'm thinking your 3 pack AAL's with stock overload removed or the Icons AAL's.

    What are your recommendations?

I want to join in on this love fest!

Marie, I bought my father a 2015 Double Cab TRD Sport last year and he wants it lifted like my 2014. I had purchased this liftkit for mine but was looking to spend less on his since he has no intention of ever taking it offroad.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Someday...
Hello. I have been following this thread with lots-o-interest for a while. I have a 2012 Tacoma DCSB. I am looking to minimally level the front but perhaps go to 1.5 to 2 inches and also a corresponding increase on the back. Want to keep the lift small. I'm not wheeling the truck, just looking for something a bit more aggressive looking. I plan to go with one size up on tires 265/70/R17. Anyway, I was scanning the Headstrong website and was having difficulty finding the proper kit. Marie? Are you out there?

    Thanks!! :hattip:

    3 inch lift on 285/75r 16
What I've been planning to do is put the 5100's up front set at 2.5" and about a 1.5" block or leaf in the back. Then I've seen a lot of people putting in 285/70/17 tires in so im gonna try that. you think they will fit?

Exactly what I'm looking for as well.

Except, I have an '09 PreRunner (if that makes a difference). I would also like a lift that wouldn't require new UCA's.

I don't ever plan on adding weight on the front (bull-bars, armor bumpers, winch, etc.).

I'm looking to lift the front anywhere from 2.0-2.50" max. I've been reading a lot of threads regarding the billies. Im really considering the 5100's all around with either the 884 or 885 springs. I would like to keep the billies set to 0 or 0.85 max to get the most comfortable ride out of them since my daily commute is about 100 miles round trip everyday.

Only offroading i see myself doing are fire-road trails with some ruts and rocks along the way, nothing extreme.

Also for the rear, i plan on getting the 5100's as well, but what AAL set up would you recommend? Leveled or a slight front rake is the goal. Preferably slight/minimal rake to compensate any added cargo in the rear (mostly 3 mountain bikes, and occasionally camping gear).

    Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road , may I get a PM also?

I've read a lot of positive feedback about you guys, so I'm 100% sure that i will be dealing with Headstrong in the very near future (maybe within the next 2 weeks or less).

    Thanks for any feedback.

I'm also ready to jump in the pool! Looking for info/pricing for my 2015 DCLB Sport. Looking for around 2 - 2.5 inches of lift and don't mind a little rake. I run a topper and carry stuff like kayaks and picnic canopies around on weekends mostly. Light offroading and intense mall crawling......... basically my daily driver. I'm considering:
    - 5100 with OME 885 front
    - 5100 rears
    - HS 3 leaf AAL
    - No UCA's

Biggest tire I'm considering is a 275/70 but will most likely go with 265/75. Either way not too concerned about rubbing.

    My questions are:
    - What would I need to set the billies at for the desired lift? I'm thinking "0" beacuse 885's.........
    - Will I need the trim packer to eliminate taco lean?
    - Will the HS leaf pack be sufficient to at least level the truck with my topper? Truck sits almose perfectly level (1/4 inch of rake) on stock suspension with topper.

    Thanks!

I wouldn't get a 3 leaf AAL if you have a shell, especially if you use it for hauling things in addition to the shell.

The 1.5-2" lift quote on those 3 leaf AALs is on a stock truck - you'll lose 3/4-1" of lift with the shell alone, plus more when you add extra weight of kayaks or other gear, which would make you nose high any time you carry anything.

You can't use a trim packer with 5100s - the trim packer is an OME product and will only work with OME shocks. For 5100s you'd need a top plate spacer.

Thanks for the reply. Gotcha on the trim packer - I'm assuming .25 top plate spacer to correct for taco lean?

So with 2 - 2.5 lift on the front I'm looking at a Dakar leaf pack (or similar) to raise the rear to level or better? Trying to manage a budget but don't want to go with just blocks in the rear..........
