Just got off phone with my sales guy @ toyota of denton. of course he wasn;t going to call me back, but luckily, i saved his cell phone and caught him. he told me I would have to bring it in and have it diagnosed. I told him it was already diagnosed, that it was all over the internet and was a firmware update... That i needed him to go to bat for me as it was a pre-existing condition that could was easily overlooked as you would not connect your phone to the stereo on a test drive

    i'll keep you posted

Last time I had the truck at the dealer I brought it up and the service guys had no knowledge of it.

I've got a '15 so I was able to do it myself... but I've heard they typically charge ~$100 so you might have to do some fighting...

I did some fighting, looks like the svc manager will take care of it. I fully explained how the issues are all over the internet and what the solution is, mentioned the TSB etc and that they should have updated it prior to me buying it.

I'll update the group 5/26 when I get it done.

Thanks to everyone for trying to assist.

Update: Remember when I posted about saying "no" to allowing access to messages and contacts? I used my BT audio for a 1 hr ride to ft worth last night and a 1.5 hr ride home and not a single reboot.

So at least I have a temporary fix.

I have a 2014 with JBL and was having the reboot issue. DIY software update worked like a charm and it has run smoothly for 2mos now. I should still have the file if you need it, it was pretty straightforward. I haven't read the full thread but not sure why there'd be any issue. I use BT every day for music and calls.

Another update: three additional 40 minutes drives later, no reboot. Right now, I am fairly certain I have figured out what causes the reboot - connectivity to the messages and contacts. That is almost 6 hours of use without a single reboot.

I think that is the one I downloaded for my 2015 Nav and may have it on a usb stick.
You can go to the above mentioned links and download it to one yourself.
I did 2 weeks ago and no problems since.

Another update - not a single reboot since I denied the truck stereo to have access to my contacts and messages. Six days no reboot, obviously I have the cause pinpointed

So gents, I was able to get my 2015 file from another user on the forum through web download. Fixed all the reboot issues and improved my bluetooth sound quality dramatically. Thanks to all the great people on this forum for the help!

Also, the 2015 entune updates are not available, even through the Toyota SCI site for download. If anyone needs a link DM me please.

Toyota of Grapevine failed... Not only was the service advisor that set up my appointment not there, he did not tell anyone about my appointment and they sure acted put out about helping, even though it cost me 2 hours out of my day to get there and back home. The service advisor I did talk to was trying to BS me about the update process (that it was more complicated than just sticking a thumb drive in the slot). I called him on it and that's when they decided to push me in... In the end, they failed to update it. I wonder if they even tried.

So no update for me, and noone has the update file for a 2014, and the dealer won;t cough it up.
