and that sir...is why attorneys are good...and accident reconstructionists

its fairly simple to figure out how fast a vehicle was going using skids...its a bit more complicated, however possible, to also figure out how fast a vehicle was travelling using the damage to the vehicles

    Hey Evan-

If there's any chance your friend doesn't want a center console/cup holder/gear shift trim I'd love to take it off his hands.

Not bitter and not old, but correct a non-rider...the gay wave everytime you pass a bike, all the weaving through traffic, guys without helmets - its Darwinism in action. Not to mention the exhausts which are so loud that it goes beyond tolerable and the tough guy and/or punk image you have to portray in order to ride. With all the distracted drivers these days, its a wonder anyone still rides a bike.

I've had MANY experiences that lead me to my feelings and statements, so don't tell me its just a select few that are like that...and the organ donor statement is true, by the way.

No brainer here. Look at the crash, look at the damage. You can't do that damage, or whait, may be you were drifting at 60MPH and hit the bike sideways. hahahaha
    Good luck

There is a Chinese saying that my mother always told me when I rode:
A car = metal protecting flesh
A motorcycle = flesh protecting metal

I dont ride anymore because of a crash a while back...never will

You need WIDE open space to ride, and I don't mean the suburbs of a city. I mean miles and miles of untraveled road.

Well today I heard back from the Insurance co. And Apprazed my truck being worth about $16,200. wippy!!!
But now they need to look at the damage underneath the body, and get a full estimate on damages to see if it will be totalled. Im scared that it wont be totaled. Right now the outside damage is at 8k. Do you guys think theres another 8-or 9k worth of damage underneath?

WOW! Your ignorance is showing!! I would also like to see the source where you came up with the "bike owners are the largest percentage of organ donors." Are you saying more dead motorcyclists give their organs than all other deceased americans? Probably not. I honestly don't think you know what you're talking about at all!!!

I'm a non-rider too but also understand that not every biker is like the douche you just described above.

Let's everyone just chill out in this thread.

If the Frame is twisted at all. How much could that cost to fix? I hear its pretty spendy.

The frame isn't that much. Replacing the frame requires removing everything which is labor intensive and that's where the money racks up. If the frame needs to be placed it'll be totaled.

no.... If there is frame damage a frame shop should be able to straighten it, why no just ask your insurance company to total the truck if thats what you want, but thats a take what they give deal no haggleing.

Hate to tell you, I'm neither a tough guy or a punk, don't have loud exhaust, and have been riding for years now and haven't even had a close call. Sorry to disappoint you.

For the OP, hope things work out for you. A few years ago I had a woman take a left in front of me while I was going straight, broke a lot of my front end and crushed her entire front end. She had her husband come to the crash site and together they tried to spin it as my fault and say I was going too fast. Lucky for me there were people on the sidewalk that witnessed the entire thing and told the cops what really happened, also didn't help her cause that she was driving without a license and had a warrant for a few minor offenses.
