Hey guys, I heard that the 04 was the best tacoma made then the 05+ sucked a diick. Is this true? I hear the engine mounts suck in the 05s, the bumpers suck, and the rear ends go out a lot. Any one shead more light on these problems? I was looking at selling my f150 for this but don't want a problematic truck. How often do these rear ends go out? When do the engine mounts become big problems?

Well, you know that the F150 forum will be biased, as any specific forum is. If we didn't love our trucks, we most likely wouldn't be here... I have heard things about the engine mounts, checked mine and they appear to be fine. Only other thing is that I have a busted ass suspension, but that's what having about 100k on the odo and living in the mountains will get you

Well, they have some truth to what they are saying. I have no ping on my truck though. The tailgate is in fact pretty weak I will admit, but if it is too heavy to be on the tailgate, chances are it shouldn't be in the pickup at all (fat chicks included). Motor mounts can be reinforced for cheap. There are issues with every vehicle, every year! I will tell you that I love my truck and have every intention of driving it well over 200k... :D
