I live in a suburb or Phoenix and to say summers are hot are an understatement. My shop is in my garage and I am wondering about the heat and the belts on my drill press and band saw. Is there something I should be doing to maintain those belts, I know the heat has to take an extra toll on them.

I wouldn't worry about it, belts on engines live in much higher temps than a garage.

I've never had to replace a belt on any piece of shop equipment other than a few things that were 30-40 years old.

I live in PHX. The "convective" heat from 115 degrees is probably less destructive than "conductive" heat from metal-to-belt friction.

But the heat does melt the mounting tale used to hold the weight of a dashcam to a surface. So I leave the mount in place and unattach the dashcam (my NextBase 622 does that ... one reason I like the design) when the truck is not in use.

Surprised that you don’t have A/C in your shop in Phoenix.

Central CA, and I've got belts on my bandsaw and drill press.

Everything is just fine and I see no need to worry about them.

Id worry more about your lights if you work in an unisulated place. They dont like the 100 degree summers and the -10 deg winters
