As the title says, there’s no heat at the defroster, but there is heat at the floor in all three positions where the floor is an outlet. Seems like it may be a door issue. Your thoughts or experiences?

I agree it is more than likely a Mode Servo issue. Here are the locations of the servo motors access them through the glove box opening with glove box removed.

Part # 87106-04050 should be the part number for the servo motor assembly.

Thanks, I’ll get a look when I can.
I just checked the coolant level and it seems good. Also, the hot isn’t as hot as I remember.

Just checked the servo, moves to 5 different positions easily. Crap!
Sounds like an internal door issue and sounds like I need to have the dash pulled.

You can remove the servo and position it by hand and see if that works. The gears could be broken in the servo.

Trying to remove the passenger side duct but can’t get the top clip to release. Any suggestions?

[IMG]Anyone have more picture of this duct? I can get 1/2 off, but I can't get it to release from the HVAC unit to get to the servo behind it.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I replaced mine a few months ago with a Dorman from Anal Zone. I wanna say they’re 5mm screws.

@Jimmyh, I need to get to the lower one, 87106-04060.
I can feel it clicking, so I think either the door is hung up or the gears inside the servo are stripped.

That is the mixing servo to blend hot and cold air and should be easy to get to with the duct out of the way. If it is clicking then the drive gear is more than likely damaged.

As for the duct I just grabbed it and wiggled it hard and it came off and snapped back on. Its been a while since I did this. You mileage may vary, I might have just been lucky.

I just went and took mine off, I just unhooked the top latch, gave it a little wiggle, and it popped right off. A little finiggleing and it's out.

    @Jimmyh @Dm93
Finally got the duct off. After popping the clip at the top, the right would swing free. The left would not come loose. With the front side of the duct off, I was able to grab the left side with a pair of pliers and one good tug.
I closed the blend door by hand and I have heat until the new servo arrives.
    I'll post pictures later.
