If anything jaimes ask the mods to move it to the BST thread. It shouldn't move as fast there

That's true and I'm sure this will be getting moved over there in September once kits really start rolling out. I think it's kind of a toss up though. In BST the thread will stay on the first page for longer, but I think the 2nd Gen section has a lot more foot traffic in it.

You figure out when you are going to tackle the install on your kit yet?

That could be a touchy thing to have it 'stickied' on the front page. The reason I say that is because there is an active and old thread that shows members how to do this mod as a DIY.

This thread I think, qualifies as a B/S/T or Vendor area thread.

Making this a sticky in the 2nd Gen page may take some of the sunshine away from BensonX, because without him, this Heated Mirror OEM mod probably wouldn't exist on TW..... IMHO of course

No disagreements with you there, in fact I would say his thread is more deserving to be a sticky then this is. Although I've made some changes to what I have done, I've certainly applied a lot of information from that thread to what I am offering here. A lot of people worked together gathering information to make it all possible, yourself included.

Right on, thank you very much! I'm actually glad you want one right away as I've had a few US suppliers unwilling to direct ship the mirrors for me to customers in the US but I do have one I've dealt with who has set it up so I can do exactly that. I've been wanting to give it a try in advance though to confirm everything goes smoothly.

Not to make you feel like a guinea pig or anything lol. I'll make sure you are taken care of no matter what! Will send you a PM shortly

Much appreciated. Your kit shipped this morning if you haven't received the tracking just let me know and I'll send it to you in a PM. Mirrors also ordered for you, as soon as I have the tracking number I'll forward it over

That would be great. By the way the relay used in the under the AC kits have a good deal of flexibility to them. I set yours to 5 minutes as ordered but if you want to change that down the road it is adjustable.

Same goes with the trigger. I've set it so the mirrors will start heating as soon as you press the switch. If you ever find that you are accidentally turning them on when fumbling for things in that area you can also adjust how long the switch must be pushed in to trigger the mirrors. Just as an example you could easily make it so the mirrors don't start heating until the switch has been held in for 1 second.

Just thought I'd let you know in case you ever feel a need to tweak the settings down the road.

    Thanks for the tip.

BTW, was there an install guide for the 'under ac' location?

There will be very soon (before your kit arrives). It is mostly the same as the posted instructions but does cover how to get the wiring over to your switch location without having to pull apart the dash. Also shows the ideal place to mount your relay which is an entirely different location then the spot posted for the left of steering wheel relay.

Otherwise all the other steps are pretty much the same.

    Hey,

Well you have pretty much given me everything you need to. Otherwise I just need to know if your order would be shipping to the US or Canada and if you would like to go on the main list which will start shipping out in September or if you would like a kit early.

    Welcome to Tacoma World :)
