We have been working together a bit behind the scenes to make sure it is compatible. I can't say 100% until it arrives, but he has been working on the mirrors so that it goes right into the black backing glass retainer with the heating prongs popping out of an existing clearance hole and prong size to match up with the end terminals that are supplied with my kit.

Nathan could chime in but that is my understanding from our conversations.

I looked high and low for a Toyota OEM blind spot/aspherical mirror. They don't exist, hence why I'm developing them.

Yup, Jaimes and I have been talking about this very subject over the last couple of months. If everything works as planned my replacement mirror glass will plug right into Jaimes's new harness. We'll keep everyone updated on their compatibility once the new mirrors arrive.

    Perfect and thanks!

It does seem that the Tacoma is a bit lagging when it comes to features that other vehicles have. Great trucks but a few extra options are always nice

Thanks if you would like to add your name to the list just let me know. I've had a few people ask me about a heated mirror kit for the FJ. I've looked into it a bit and should be able to put something together. As far as I can tell there is no replacement glass available with heating elements... but Nathan may be able to assist on that. Then I'd just need to work with someone to determine the correct wire lengths and best grounding points but I do think it is something that can become available.

I'm working on the FJ's as well. I've already sent off the FJ blanks to my manufacturer.

Instructions for the Left of Wheel position have now been updated to show the new grounding point for the 2 mirror ground cables.

Ahh moving.... one of my least favorite things lol.

I appreciate the offer, might just take you up on that when the time comes. Chances are the current harness would be around 75% correct for the FJ anyhow with some minor tweaks being needed to wire lengths.

Got you on the list and thanks for the order! I'll be trying to get everyone taken care of before winter hits... installing this would be less fun if it is already sub zero temps outside haha

Just a little heads up that the three studs/bolts on the mirror assembly are made of very soft steel. Had a local guy doing his mirrors today and did a partial strip on one of them. Easily avoidable by getting a few spins on the nut by hand before using a ratchet (which he did not do).

Luckily just the first couple of threads were stripped so we were able to file them down and save it. Anyhow like I said just a little heads up that those are made of pretty soft steel.

    Hi Up2NoGood,

I just joined this forum after I recently acquired a nice 2013 Tacoma and could not believe Toyota cannot come up with heated side mirrors on their Tacomas ! I'd be interested in acquiring your kit as soon as available. Looking for a Left of Wheel / 15 Minutes / Green Kit. Please let me know how to proceed from here.

It is definitely a bit of a mystery why toyota decided to not include this as an option. I appreciate the order, I just added you to the list. Kits will start shipping out in 2 weeks. The plan at this point is to have everyone's order complete at that point so there really won't be much of a delay for anybody on the list.

Payment will be through paypal and I'll probably send everyone on the list a PM with the details around the 27th so that I can use the weekend to start packing orders for anyone who has paid.

Will keep everyone posted but that is the plan!
