Oh forgot to mention, as far as fitment those switches do drop right in and are the closest looking to OEM that I have seen from an aftermarket switch

It is likely possible using a relay that has a built in timer. Do you know if OTRATTW offer "momentary" switches? I haven't really looked at that style but I suspect some of the issues listed two posts above may also be a factor with the switch, couldn't say for sure though as I haven't had a look at it.

So I guess I should let you guys know how I planned to sell these.

    - I won't be taking any deposits, the only time money would be sent is when the kit is actually ready to ship

    - there will be a list and whoever is on the list earliest gets shipped first. The only exception I can see is if I temporarily run out of supplies that prevents someone's order from going out, I wouldn't hold back other peoples orders if I had the materials on hand to ship another order (like if I ran out of green under the AC switches so couldn't ship order to joe, but had amber under the AC switches then people wanting amber will still have their orders shipped)

I will be getting a bunch of supplies in next week and will build some harnesses. I planned to sell a few kits on here before I make an official for sale thread so that hopefully a few people can review the kit. If anyone would like to get a kit early please let me know.

Otherwise if you want to get put on a list for when the sale thread goes active you can also post in here and I will get a list going.

Just need to know what switch type, how many minutes & illumination colour.

I also wanted to put it out there that I will do my best to keep up with things, but I do have a full time job that keeps me busy and a family life to tend to. A big part of why I don't want any deposits is if I have a busy week and don't get kits done, I don't want to feel the pressure of having someone else's money tied up while they wait.

I guess simply put, it does take up time to do a quality job on these, I don't plan to be pumping them out like a factory. But I will gladly make them at a pace I am comfortable with and time allows

No problem, I just didn't want to give anyone false impressions on anything. I don't think it's too bad with the wiring out of the way, but in a week or two I should have clear instructions up (with pics) that will let you gauge what's involved.

I would buy but already invested in some ProFX tow mirrors with heat and wired up to an aftermarket switch. But your kit looks fantastic!!!

Hell I may buy your kit and sell my tow mirrors.

Thanks.. Yeah I think it came out well too! Sounds like you are wired up already and enjoying frost free mirrors :)

You bring up a good point though about the mirrors. I am not marking up that cost in this so if someone wants it without the mirrors my cost is $110 which could be taken off of the total. I've seen cheaper options such as this http://www.ebay.com/itm/360837092059?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT but I've never checked them out so couldn't comment on their fitment or quality.

As for factory switch locations - I'm full due to heated seats below the A/C. Do you know if there is a Toyota mirror direction adjustment switch that has an additional button on the faceplate that could be used for heat? IIRC there was one from a Highlander possibly in another thread. That would be my only factory switch option. Others may be in the same predicament.

image.jpg image.jpg For anyone interested, here is a couple pics of a toyota mirror with heating elements. They come this way direct from the factory with the heating strips. Plug and play fitment on all 2nd gen mirror housings

Hmm there may be, I've seen some mirror adjustment switches with an additional button for features such as fold in mirrors. What is really needed is a momentary switch. If that is in there then the timer can be accomplished with a specialty relay that has a built in timer feature.

I would love to get a set of these before next winter... Southern Ontario gets some crappy icey mornings where I curse my mirrors but I haven't had the time (or skill) to brave this on my own... I'm in for a no brainer plug and play upgrade for sure!

    ***Update***
I appreciate all of the interest guys. To help me keep track of this I am starting a list of people who are committed to buying once these kits are available in the market place. As I have said I won't be asking for a deposit but I do ask that you only ask to be added if you are sure you would like to get one. It would also be of great help if when you post to tell me you want on the list you tell me what options...

    1) Switch position (left of steering or under AC)
    2) How many minutes (5 or 15)
    3) Colour (green or amber)

To be added on just post in this thread with the 3 pieces of info and I will add you to the list that I will keep updated on the OP.

    The list:

(Committed to buy when kit is available)
    1) Up2NoGood <---- had to start it off with at least one name lol

Separately I'm going to have a bunch of supplies coming in this week and could do a few kits if you would like one now. It would be nice to have a couple people review it before they go for sale, but I also understand that it is summer and you may not want to buy something yet that won't be used for a few months. If that is of interest to you please let me know.
