Hey Jaimes, I am only just getting to the install. I am wondering how much current the mirrors draw.

I ask as I have a house battery with a couple of circuits already routed to the cab area. For me I can easily put the mirrors on their own discrete cuircut.

I want to properly protect things, so some advise is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Peter

    Hey Peter,

Both mirrors combined draw about 4.5 amps total.

    Hope that helps.

Right on, you should be well prepared for winter now! Also thank you for ordering

Out of curiosity did you hook this up through your fuse panel or an aux. battery?

You made it too easy with the add a fuse. I plugged it in to the ACC spot as directed and, hey presto, heated mirrors.

This leaves all my aux circuits for future needs.

    Hey Guys,

I'm not exactly sure how this happened but on the Left of Steering option one of my instruction edits the grounding point for the mirrors reverted back to grounding in the door rather than in the cab (which is where the instructions should be showing to ground them). I'll be revising the instructions tonight to the in cab grounding point. Mostly a heads up for anyone who may be working on their install right now.

Some of you may have already installed your kit by grounding inside the door panel. If so it's really not an issue if your mirrors are working fine. The reason I changed the ground to inside the cab is although the door ground point worked fine for most, a couple of people could not get a solid ground inside the door. If you don't have a solid ground you will know it as the mirror(s) will not properly heat up.

Anyhow just a heads up, and I'll have the instructions changed back to the in cab grounding point tonight after work

Update: We had some rain over the night so my windows and mirrors were fogged up. I think this is the first time I was excited to see my windows/mirrors fogged. Got in the truck and turned the mirrors on. I noticed it working pretty quickly. I have the 5 min. timer and by the time it shut off my mirrors were completely clear. Couldn't be more happy with this kit. Quality product and great service.

Glad you guys like it! It definitely takes all of the annoyance out of fogged / frosted mirrors when you just need to push a button to clear them off

This is gonna be one of the best mods yet. Sad on a 34,000 vehicle it is not standard already
