I'll be out of town next weekend for my girlfriend's birthday. We could work something in on Saturday afternoon 10/3 or starting any time on Sunday 10/4.

This is a great mod, but by doing it on my truck this past January, I made two mistakes: 1) I froze my ass off doing the mod in my unheated garage (I just couldn't wait until warmer weather), and 2) the kit didn't exist yet, and I spent a good chunk of time doing what's already done for you in this kit - go for it (the mod and the kit)!

I'm currently free all day. How does 11am work for you? That should give me time to get caffeinated before you roll down.

Probably not even that long, especially with two people. Just to be safe though that's what I'd plan for.

Agree with both points lol. I can't imagine it was a fun install in the middle of winter without a heated shop. Especially if you had to do all the wiring connections at the same time. I do admire your determination though

Glad that the install went well. I remember when you first posted describing your winter conditions I thought damn, this guy really needs heated mirrors lol. Happy to do it for everyone, it's really cool to see all the install updates rolling in.

I installed this kit tonight for the left of wheel position. The install was pretty simple except for me being a dumbass. I ran the passenger wires into the mirror while standing on the inside of the door. Got it all screwed back together and ready to go only to realize I was standing on the wrong side (Beer may have been involved..). Also, while running the passenger wire, the instructions say to run it above the metal bar. I tried and got tired of fishing for it so I ended up running it below everything as it was really simple. The wires need to be hidden but that's just a zip tie and I'm done. Maybe this is easier for others.

If you're on the fence about ordering, go for it. The supplies are top quality and shipping is fast. Being in TN, it's not brutal in winter but parking outside is a PITA for frost.

Install took me about 3.5 hours and I'm not totally done. Still have to connect the illumination wires and tidy up some other wires (it got dark).

Just received my kit in the mail today - I am very excited to get this done! I will do it today if I have time this afternoon! The kit is extremely "factory" looking - the level of professionalism in the construction and the quality of the materials are top notch. No regrets at all about spending the money on this vs. doing it myself. It would be nice if there was a printed set of instructions included, but I am sure those are available here for me to print out - can you post a link to the latest PDF somewhere? Thanks again.

Routing wires can definitely be a bit of a PITA to do a nice clean job, but one of those necessary evils to finish off with a factory looking install. When running the passenger wire it's no problem to run it above or below the bar, most important is to make sure wherever you choose to run them is not at risk of being mechanically pinched, or that you aren't securing it to something that heats up. Otherwise your options are pretty open. Sounds like you are just about at the finish line, hope you enjoy them!

I appreciate the compliments, you are right that I use top quality components in this. It's the kind of thing where if I'm going to build it for someone else then it better be something they will be happy with, otherwise no point in doing it at all. I think most on here definitely can respect the mentality of doing it right the first time.

The instructions can be downloaded and printed at the very bottom of the first post. There is separate instructions for the two different kit types. Also don't let the length of the instructions worry you, they are just very detailed to hopefully make everything straightforward
