Both mirrors in and door panels back on. Fishing the pax side is the easy one, lots more wires on the drivers side. Now just to hook and put the piece under the steering wheel back.

I thought i had asked for a green switch, but no matter. I dont want it bad enough to take the dash back apart. Both mirrors are warm to the touch.

Ah cool you got it done.

PS the status rectangle at the top is amber on all switches. It is the graphics below that can be either green or Amber when the headlights are on

So 6:06 actual working time. Not the fastest install on record, but i didn't break anything. I ended up mounting both the relay and the switch ground to the outboard end of the metal piece pictured in the instructions. It looked like the relay would interfere with the bluetooth dongle on my OBDii connector for monitoring transmission temps on my smartphone.

All in all totally completely satisifed. I figured I could maybe have bought all the parts for about what the kit cost, but mine would not come out as nice as the harness Jaimes already has made up, and it would have taken a TON of time to get from wire on spools to finished harness.

I have decided to stick with the amber light on my green dash. I'll know what the indicator is just by the color.

    5/5 stars

By that I meant the graphic of the heated mirror with the heat waves running through it

Well there you have it. the two tiny green wires on the switch connector are a bit short to get to get to the proper leads on a switch on the lower blank from the upper bank, and getting the fog light switch out to taps those wire leads was nto happening.

If you got room, put this in the lower switch bank left of steering wheel. I had to modify a switch hole for my OPTRAwhatever light switch, so even if I had pulled it and moved it up the defrost switch from Jaimes wouldn't fit into the enlarged hole correctly.

You did take a while before getting this installed! At least you got it in before winter hits though. You are very welcome and hope you enjoy the kit

Glad you like it... Should be a handy kit being in Alaska.

That's too bad the fog light didn't want to pop out for you so you could hook up the illumination wires. The wire leads as you found out are long enough to tap a switch to the left or right but not long enough to drop or go up a row.

If you want to get the illumination hooked up it wouldn't be hard to extend the wires by crimping on a new wire to the ends. Or if you wanted I could mail you a couple wires made a bit longer than usual that you could hook into the white switch connector.

    Thanks again for the order!

Oh and I did enjoy the play by play with pics lol. I wouldn't worry too much about the time spent for install (within reason). I've seen there is a wide range of reported completion times but the key thing is nothing gets broken, and that it gets done right the first time. Looks like you nailed it!

The four hardest things are pulling the wires through the two boots and then at 3&4 feeding the bare wire ties through the boots.

5&6 would be getting the new glass to snap in, the rest of it is comparable to legos if you got a 10mm socket, a #2 Phillps, a sharp pointy thing and a coat hanger to cut up.

Edit: And a torx 25 driver, a common size.

Yep still making them. I've got a few packed up to go out in the morning. Delivery out to Ontario seems to be about a week, maybe a day or so over that. I try to keep a bit ahead so if people are looking for a kit to ship right away I can usually do that.

Hope that helps and thanks for the interest.

I will pay shipping for anyone that wants to send me their old stock mirrors after you've swapped in Jaimes's mirrors.

    Thanks

Try cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol. It could be left over residue from manufacturing, worth a shot.

That's not a bad idea, I was going to suggest acetone but I don't know if that would have a negative affect on the glass. Isopropanol would be safe though.
