That's a bit of a tricky one, I'll try to explain why. The switch used to trigger the relay uses a ground signal as the trigger. This means the relay already has +12v at one end of the relay coil and it is the ground signal from the switch that completes it and triggers the relay. The relays on your buss man box are likely wired the opposite where ground is already present and the introduction of +12v is what triggers the relay.

If you were able to modify the wiring on one of your relays so that ground is the activator then it could be done.

Otherwise the kit comes with 1 relay that does get concealed behind the dash.

    *Edit*
That info above was assuming a left of steering kit. If it is Under the AC controls you are interested in then that triggers the relay with +12v however needs to use a specialty relay for the timer. Only the left of steering switches have timers built right into the switch. The under the AC switches are a basic momentary switch so the relay is used to incorporate the timing feature.

The kit showed up today. I am truly impressed in the quality of the wiring harnesses supplied.

I have a dozen Palm Bay Iced Teas in the garage fridge (girls drink or not, I LOVE those things), a friend willing to sit on a stool and make witty remarks throughout the install and a day clear of other tasks. Tomorrow morning I start.

If you have any questions during the install just let me know.

Not a problem Nick. Got ya up on the list for when you are ready. The cold weather has been off to a slow start over here, but have had to defrost the mirrors a number of times. In 2-3 weeks it will pretty much become a daily affair though.

Hopefully in the next two months I'll have funds for this. I ran across this particular post and remember seeing these.

No left over hardware is always a good thing lol. Glad to hear you got it all set up, you didn't waste much time after it arrived

Sounds good, just let me know when you are ready. I've actually looked into the AOB switches and still have one that I used to test out some things.

    image.jpg

There were a few downfalls / complications to using the switch for this though so decided not to make it an option.

Don't have my taco yet but when I do (hopefully before it snows up here) I would be interested. How much would it be?

How bad were the complications? I just don't like the windshield heater button for under the AC and that's the only location option I have.

Where are the installation instructions for left side of steering wheel install? I wanted to preview them before seeing if this is something I can do. How do you know if you need 15 minutes timer or 5 minute? Thanks

Already shopping and no taco yet lol. Pricing is $340 for a left of steering kit and $360 for a under AC kit. Price includes everything you need shipped to your door.

Instructions are at the very bottom of the first post.. PDF files that can be viewed or downloaded. 5 minutes is just fine for dew or a light frost, 15 is great if you get heavy frosts or iced right over.

Right now I have 3 pairs of mirrors in stock for Canadian orders but one of them pending a sale. Another 12 pair on order though that will be here in 2-3 weeks.

Checking it out now. I won't lie, it seems a little daunting. I was hoping it was more plug & play or maybe a detailed video instruction for dummies like me.

The complications I had noted are:

    1) since the are LED bulbs the will not dim as fluid as the rest of your switch bulbs... I didn't really investigate that too far
    2) the way that the switch is designed it will not have a status light on when the mirrors are heating up. There is a way to modify the switch to have the status light on but involves cutting parts off the circuit on the switch out and adding some wires and a diode in.
    3) Although the switches do light up, they are not a close match to the rest of the toyota lighting.

Some of these things won't matter to some but I figure it would not appeal to most.
