I'll bet you love them Fuse. It was only a couple of degrees below freezing here yesterday. I wiped my mirrors with a rag but I guess it was a little dirty. Seemed clean but there was a thin layer of stuff on the mirrors. Just enough so that they fogged up. The heaters kept them clear until I got back home and cleaned them better with some windshield washer antifreeze.

Yeah I cant wait. When I'm in Calgary, my condos garage blows heat right at you when you pull into the garage and all my mirrors fog up before I back into my spot. In the field, the mirrors are always iced up when I drive into camp in the morning. Be nice to not deal with that anymore!

    Definitely want to order these.

To order I need to know 4 pieces of information:

    1) Switch position (left of steering or under AC)
*SWITCH POSITION LEFT OF STEERING WHEEL

    2) How many minutes (left of steering 5 & 15 / Under AC 5, 10, 15 or 20)
*TIMER WOULD BE 15 MINUTES (how are the switches different?)

    3) Colour (green or amber)
*COLOR WOULD BE GREEN AND TURNED ON WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON

    4) Canada or US
    *US ORDER

Thank you Jaimes. The mirrors arrived a few days ago and the wire bundles arrived today. This is a very professional looking kit. Now, to set some time aside to install it.

I envy you people that have the guts to install this yourselves. I took one look at the instructions and said NO WAY. So I paid the shop that installed my remote starter to do the install for me. It took them longer than either of us had anticipated, but they got it done and only charged me for the time they quoted.

And by the way, they work great!

Hi Jan from one Albertan to another. The heated mirrors really work extremely well in our climate. Used them this morning but only had to have them on for approx. 5 min.
For those hesitant to buy because of fear of the install, I would say go for it. I'm only somewhat handy with mechanics and household repairs and not at all good at electronics. Jaimes instructions may seem difficult but it's only because they are detailed and cover most possibilities. If my old eyes and arthritic hands could do it, most others can also. Just takes time and patience.
    Well worth it.

Glad to hear they are installed now! I was also surprised when you told me the install shop figured about an hour. I've done a few installs and even if I'm pushing it I'm about 1.5 hours. Hope you enjoy them!

Couldn't agree more. I had a hard time deciding if I should go so detailed on the instructions as some people may get intimidated by them. That being said I barely ever get asked any install related questions and I think that is because the instructions cover it all in great detail.

Just sent you a message on how to proceed with ordering a kit

Heated mirrors from @Up2NoGood. 5100 Bilstein all four corners.
Finally got my new heated mirrors in. Wow! Very nice! I started by the removal of all the panels as stated and then routed all my wiring. I think routing the harness was the worst part of the job, but I'm pretty anal about that so I wanted it nice and tidy. Took me about 4 hours to complete the project.

My only observation will be to install a small two wire connector behind the door panel in case the mirror has to come off. I'd hate to disassemble the mirror every time, but for now, it's fine. I have some speaker mod's to do (found out my Focal's stick just a bit too far into the door, and when the window goes all the way down it hits just a tad bit of the magnet), so will be making a 1/4" spacer to install, that's when I'll rewire the heated mirror wires.

I got the new mirror switch with Amber light when in "heat" mode only and I can say that this is perfect for me. You can see the picture below. I had the timer set to 10 minutes and within 5 minutes it was at 100° The timer module fit perfect where Jaimes said it would and is easily accessible if needed.

Kit laid out minus the two mirrors. The workmanship of the kit is excellent!

Thank you, I appreciate it. It is an awesome kit and lots of thought went into the design of it to make it as plug and play as it can get for you guys.

@weendoggy Thanks for the thorough review! It looks like you did a great job on the install and I'm sure you will be enjoying having heated mirrors

You have a good point on the disconnect just in case you ever need to remove the mirrors down the road. It's something I have looked into but figured most people won't have a need to remove the mirrors, but can very easily be added on after the fact if you do end up removing them.
