Vendors and supply slowed the project down lol. I was supposed to be done last week. Now I have to wait one more week to be able to call it done.

I just sent you a message by PM. Basically just need to figure out which of the three kits you would like plus what options and then we can go from there.

I appreciate it. I can be pretty particular when I build things and make sure each harness I make is something I'd gladly install in my own truck. Hope you enjoy the kit and thanks for choosing to order one!

Thanks. I love the test panel! Before wiring that up I was testing 1 switch at a time which was getting very tiring since part of the tests involves making sure it cycles for the correct amount of time.

Thanks they are definitely a great addition for the truck! The timer can be a bit tricky in areas where you get a good frost. I'm sure you get some cold stretches over in Ontario. I've found where I live 5 minutes is usually adequate but there are some heavy frosts that need just a little extra time. 10 minutes would probably be ideal but unfortunately it is not an available option for that kit type.

All that said I don't think you can go wrong either way. If you went with a 5 minute timer you will probably have some times where you will need to give them a second dose to fully clear the mirrors. If you go with a 15 minute timer you can always cancel the heating cycle early if you wish by pushing the button a second time while the mirrors are heating.

I started off with a 5 minute timer and then ended up changing mine out to a 15 minute timer just so I knew in the mornings for work the mirrors would be fully cleared off by the time I got in the truck to go.

As far as color if you have a 07 and would like the switch illumination to be color matched with the rest of your switches then I would go with amber. I use the same amber bulbs that Toyota supplies with other dash switches so it works out to be a perfect match up.

    Hope that all helps!

I ordered my kit with a fifteen minute timer and find that it's actually unnecessary for me. If/when I order another kit from James I'll most likely just stick with the five minute timer and know for certain that I wouldn't order higher than the ten minute option.

Yeah I even find even up here that 5 minutes does handle most of what I need, with just some times needing a few extra minutes when it gets really bad out. 10 minutes would probably be the best compromise for most, I don't think I have ever had bad enough frost where I needed the entire 15 minutes.

I agree that 5 minutes is enough, I have the 15 min and have not needed it, but it does not cost anything to just let it go and we had a mild winter this year.
I found this to be a very well made kit, even for this anal installer..
    Couple of tips:
Do not connect the wires to the mirrors until you are sure everything is right, it is almost impossible to pull the connectors back off without messing them up.
Getting the mirrors to snap back into place can be a little challenging, a very light coat of Vaseline on the guides and snaps makes it much easier...

This is a great mod, thanks..
