I did one side one day and the other side another day, both after work. It was the first time I had ever taken off the door panels, but I had done a little work with wiring before (not much though). The whole job took me something like 3 hours. The first side takes about 2/3 of the time, as you're figuring things out (the instructions are awesome BTW) and the other side flies because you know what you're doing.

You're very welcome! Once you have them there's no going back lol.

@58 Siesta pretty much nailed it in his reply. I wouldn't say the install is very difficult but it does take a bit of time to run the wiring. I'd count on a few hours to do a nice clean install. I can install them fairly quickly, but if it's your first time then it takes a bit longer looking up how to remove a few panels etc.

Bought a kit over a year ago but got busy and only just installed it. Used the heaters for the first time this morning, and I am so happy to have them! Truck is a 2007, the only option I have to tap into for illumination is the fog light switch which is in the top bank... I haven't done that yet but will do very soon.

I want to say, the kit is very well made. I thought a job like this would mean constant frustration with fussy parts, but the obvious quality of the build really gives a lot of confidence and the instructions are excellent! Weather here in Nova Scotia can fog up or freeze up your mirrors constantly while you drive sometimes so this upgrade will probably be the most value for effort of any.

    Thank you so much!

Thanks for the kind words :) Too bad you missed out on getting these in for last season. Although I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a bit of a mod pile in the basement waiting for me to install :anonymous: by the sounds of it you'll be using the heated mirrors pretty often!

Sounds good, when you are ready just let me know and I'll be happy to help.

Hi, I just got a 13 Tacoma TRD a couple weeks ago and, like this entire thread discusses, am disappointed with no heated mirrors. Can you contact me via email as I would like to order a kit. Thanks!

This only affects Canadian orders but I'm out of mirrors right now. I have an order in but Toyota says they won't be here for about 2 weeks. If you are in Canada and would like to order I have a list going of pending orders once the new stock arrives.

Just found this thread - have a 2015 Tacoma (4x4, V6) and love the truck - have had 3 Silverados prior to this and all had this feature - bummed Toyo doesn't offer it - what a great solution for us in Oregon, we have the need for this on many a morning. Coupled with remote start, this kit sounds like the bomb!

Before I order (and forgive me, I don't have time to read all 68 pages of this thread) one question?: Do you know if installing this will have any way impact (electrical aspect) of the Manuf. Warranty or perhaps an Extended Warranty?

    Thanks in advance,
    ~Lou

    Hey Lou,

Thanks for the interest. I replied to your PM but wanted to answer in here in case anyone else had the same question. My understanding is any aftermarket product has the potential to void a particular warranty claim however they must illustrate that the aftermarket product was the cause of a failure. These heated mirror kits are built to be their own unique circuit so it is highly unlikely that it would ever cause a failure to any other component or circuit on your truck.

I guess as an example if you did a modification to the truck that allows your fog lights to come on at anytime and then your fog lights failed Toyota may deny your warranty for that if they feel the modification is why it failed. However if you had a heated mirror kit installed and your wiper blade motor fails they won't have any grounds to deny warranty because you have heated mirrors installed.

    Hope that makes sense!

Makes perfect sense and thank you Jaimes! We're of like minded thinking there (but it's always good to confirm with smart folks!). Look forward to connecting with you and placing an order!

No problem at all and thanks for the order! I'll be in touch shortly.

Glad to hear you got it installed, looks great. Hope you enjoy the kit!

Sounds good, just let me know if you'd like to place an order or have any questions

I know that story... Currently have a pile of mods in the basement waiting for warmer weather to install. It helps if you don't add up the total lol
