All of the heated mirrors - from effectively everyone - plug in using the same butt connectors.

You’re going to love this upgrade.

    Order ships tomorrow morning

Just replied to your PM but the quick answer is no there are no disconnects in the door area if changing out mirrors. I was going to, but the reality is probably 95% of the people who order the kit would not use that feature. That said I've had many people order the kit with the ProEFX mirrors and linking the two together is very simple.

This does seem to be true. Most heated mirror glass have two male .110" prongs as the connection point.

Threw them in here today, the worst part was trying to fish the wires through the boots. Other then that very straight forward and a very high quality product.

    Thank you

Got mine today. Highly recommend anyone considering this to do it. Top notch quality workmanship, excellent packaging, and great guy to deal with.

Time for a side job to make some bucks for this mod. Quality wiring is worth it. Not to mention a fellas time in research to do it correctly. I'm in this season.

So if people are able to get the guts from a 4Runner mirror to have puddle lights and turn signals, couldn’t the RAV4 mirror, heated with the blind spot in it also be used.

Heated, blind spot, puddle lights, and turn signals?

    @Up2NoGood

So I've had these sitting in a box for however long it's been since I've ordered them (2 years?) and finally got around to installing them over the weekend. First off, your instructions were awesome. I think that a lot more people would be willing to do their own work if they had instructions like yours. Second, everything in your kit went together exactly how it was supposed to. The only issue I ran into was entirely my own doing (managed to loop the wire around the bottom of the glove box frame when running it). Everything else was entirely straightforward.

The only surprise in the whole thing was pulling the passenger mirror off and finding a wasp nest inside the mirror housing. Yeeha. I've used them for a few minutes the last two mornings and they've worked great.

Yeah fishing the wires through the boots is truly a pain... I would not cut it as a stereo installer lol

Glad to hear you got it hooked up and hope you enjoy the kit!

Much appreciated :) Thanks for the order!

Sounds good to me, just let me know once ready. Wiring is definitely one of those things you want to make sure is done right.

No clue on that one. Someone would have to see if the Rav4 mirror housing could be attached to the Tacoma base. Or if the dimensions of the glass are a close match it probably wouldn't be too hard to MacGyver the plastic Tacoma Mirror backing plate onto the Rav4 glass so that it just clips right into the Tacoma housing.

    Replied

Wow 2 years is a while! Although I'm guilty of having a number of Tacoma "projects" and some have been sitting in my basement for a couple of years now too. I actually should go through it and create a bit of a Tacoma garage sale since I know some of it I likely won't ever get around to installing.

Anyhow glad you like the kit.... I'm not a fan of wasps, the thought of pulling a mirror off to find a nest made me cringe lol

Sub'd for future purchase. Silly question here as well. I have a 2015 OR/MT. Any chance the stock mirrors already have the coils and only needs the wiring harness & switch? Seems like something that might be there and just needs to be hooked up. Just don't want to buy heated mirrors and come to find out I didn't need them in the first place.

To my knowledge 2nd gens were regrettably never offered with heated mirrors.

I’ve done this mod and I love it. Get it done now to speed up safe driving time from startup without all the scraping.

    And welcome to TacomaWorld.

Thanks! Stoked to be here. And thanks for the info. I definitely will be doing this mod in the future but my mod budget for the year has already been well depleted (new lift, wheels, & tires) and then some! haha

G.T. is correct. 2nd Gens have never came stock having mirrors with heating elements on them. Would be nice if they had though.

Sounds good, if / when ready just let me know!

Going on 2nd winter since I had mine, to anyone thinking they don't need the 15min switch, I offer you this.

you are sitting in traffic, the temp is right around freezing, sticky wet snow is falling, wind is blowing at your back and the damn snow is sticking to your mirrors. Would you rather hit your mirror button 10x an hour, or only 4x...... the choice is yours.

in all seriousness. that exact scenario has happened to me, and I was thankful I had the 15min switch.

on a side note, anyone had a delayed reaction to the light in the switch coming on? I've noticed it a few times that the light is either delayed, or does not come on, but the mirrors heat up.
