If you are going to ship these out in September, then definitely put me on the list. I'm out of the country for the next 2 weeks (away from my Tacoma), so when I get back, I'll take a look at where I would want my switches. I can't remember where the blanks are being I just bought it. Definitely amber and a 15 minute timer though.

    Okay sounds good

Thanks for the order, got you up on the list but will need to know what options you want yours built to.

    No problem

    Triple noted :)

Ok I've moved you over to an early shipment. I can ship right away or wait until instructions go up, your choice. Either way I'd wait to do the actual install until instructions are available for ya.

Okay great and thanks for the order. Just let me know about the switch placement but I've got you up on the list

Can do, I should have an idea on shipping either later tonight or tomorrow. It is likely that the total cost will include shipping but will let you know

@Andre D & @ALBtacoma I've checked into shipping rates within Canada and here is where things are at. The kit comes comes with 3 boxes total (2 boxes for the mirrors & 1 box contains the harness and switch). I will pack all of these into one box as that will keep the shipping costs down. After checking rates and trying a few options here is where I'm at...

    1) if doing exactly as outlined the cost is a bit higher than what was allotted for shipping so I would need to charge a bit extra on the total cost.

    2) the mirrors themselves come from Toyota in boxes that are pretty bulky. I can safely fit both mirrors in just one mirror box, doing this cuts the total size down enough that I could do it for no extra charge (shipping included) with tracking.

Let me know how you guys would like to go about it.

The cheaper shipping option is better

I think so too. As long as people don't mind me putting the 2 mirrors in one box then I'll go that route and the shipping costs stay reasonable. Putting both in one box still allows room for full bubble wrap around both the mirrors.

So this afternoon I had a chance to help a friend do his install and documented it with pictures. I'll be using them to get some instructions written up. Unfortunately with this one we hit a couple of unexpected snags both right at the end.

The first was with the left of the wheel 5 minute timer. This particular switch is the only one I hadn't personally installed and as it turns out there is a minor fitment issue.
    image.jpg

On the left is a 5 minute timer and on the right is a 15 minute timer. The 15 minute timer goes in no problem but the 5 minute timer has a raised piece on the right side of it as you can see from the photo that is not present on the 15 minute timer. The raised portion is around 1/16" high and there is no slot in the switch hole to clear that. We were able to get it in with some force as the hole was able to deflect around it but it wasn't all that easy. We ended up pulling it back out and just sanded off that 1 raised edge and then it slipped in no problem.

So for all you who have ordered the 5 minute option do you want me to ship as is knowing it could be a very tight fit to get it pushed in, or would you like me to take that raised edge off in advance?

The second issue we ran into was at the very end of the install. We turned on his heaters and only the passenger side was working. After a bit of testing we were able to track it down to a bad ground used on the drivers door (from mirror to door). This was a bit odd as I've used the same grounding point every time with no problems. I then tried a couple of alternate points on the door with the same result. As it turns out there was not a single location we could find on the drivers door that would make a good ground.

I'm not sure if Toyota just runs a wire from the chassis over to the door to ground it but I suspect there was some sort of factory default or oversight on that truck as it is a 2015, unfortunately I didn't have my multimeter with me to inspect further. We did end up getting it all going but had to extend the ground cable and run it into the cab for a ground point rather than terminating it in the door.

The kits were going to have ground cables to the doors but I think I will now extend them into the cab where there are some very solid ground points to be used.

So not the smoothest install, but got the pics I needed for instructions and we did get everything sorted out.

My son was nice enough to take some pictures of the dash while I'm out of the country. It appears I have no blanks on the left, so below the AC it goes. Amber, 15 minutes.

Although I could do it myself , I do think that if you are going to market the kit as basically drop in , it would make sense to prepare the 5 minute switches ahead of shipping

    Looks great

Okay perfect. I'll send you a PM shortly.

That was nice of him, okay I'll get the list updated with your info

No disagreement there. Some people may be hesitant to have that sanded off on a brand new switch, but in reality that entire area is tucked behind the dash and is causing issues for it to simply push right in like the 15 minute switch. I've got no problem taking that small ledge off though.

Is this the green or amber? I know it sounds like a stupid question but it seems like both colors are there and just wanted to confirm as color is the only thing I am debating

That particular switch was green illumination. Check out below for a easy distinction between the two colour options.
