In Sept. I suddenly developed a bad vibration in the blower. On low it hummed. On high the whole dash vibrated! I assumed the worst and since I'm 6'6", dreaded thinking of getting under the dash. It was cool enough I didn't NEED a/c and it'd be a couple months before I really NEEDED heat, so I did the logical thing. I waited. :notsure:

Well it's mid-November and I NEED heat so I did the real logical thing and checked in at Tacoma World. I ran across several mentions of bad fan motors and failed bearings as I suspected the problem was, but I also discovered removing the fan is a whole lot easier than I anticipated!

Checking the cabin filter first, I discovered... there wasn't one. Sticking a finger down in the squirrel cage revealed a mouse nest. :frusty: I pulled as much out as I could then removed the blower and finished cleaning with a brush and compressed air. What I expected to be a $150 part replacement and was almost willing to pay someone else to do, turned out to be housekeeping. Tacoma World, you saved me again! :amen:
