I do hear a sound. The airflow sounds different compared to interior. The climate control could be completely off but still has hot air entering the cabin. You can barely feel it but it's there. Perhaps something with the blend door?

That would be my guess, yes. Blend doors can stick, the actuators can go bad, and more.

So I took out the servo motor and tested it per Jon's instructions. Thanks Jon. The motor tests good so put everything back together and then tried everything again. As I turned the hot and cold knob back and forth I noticed the servo motor worked. I found out it only works if I push hard on the knob while I was turning it. If I don't push hard it doesn't work. I think the climate control unit is going bad. Any suggestions? And where might I find one.

Is this what you are looking for?

I just picked this one up from LKQ corp. online. I purchased it for the front panel only from a 2001 4runner. I plan on doing the LED lights and the 4runner one isnt paited orange on the back. Check them out to see if they have anymore in stock. Search "Temperature control".

@thunderone has one for sale in the first gen threads. A little high priced but he does have it and its one from a 4runner so if you decide to go with LED's it will work just fine.

From what I understand you separate the a/c amplifier from head unit. See attached .pdf
Wonder if your head unit could be taken apart and fixed.
