Does anyone have a link to the manual showing how to remove the heater core or evaporator?

I’ve tried pulling up some YouTube videos, but most of them do not show a step by step. I’m sure it’s a difficult thing to video given the process.

I’m not sure you want to do it per the FSM.

In short, it has you pull the entire dash with steering wheel and column. If that’s how you have to do it, I can see why no one would video it.

@Dm93 might have a better idea and some tips.

If mine goes out, I guess I’ll be rolling the windows down.

I’m pretty sure there’s no way around ripping the entire dash out of it.

It's not terrible but not a job most people like doing, alot of stuff has to be removed.
I pull the steering column separately, take lots of pictures, keep your bolts organized, and mark & keep track of electrical connectors.

I'm with you. I'd never start that job and would go without first.
I lived in Florida and southeast Georgia for years with no AC...

Curious as to why you need to pull it.
    Evaporator leaking?

Yeah but what if you’re in the north and got no heat?
I’m often so cold that I need to run the heater to warm up my hands enough to even get my wetsuit off.

You know that money you save for a rainy day? Well, I’d hand it over to the guy that’s doing the job. I’d wish him lots of luck too.

It is intimidating until you have done a few, the first few I did I was nervous about. Now I'd rather pull a dash than do anything under the hood as long as it's not a toilet inside and the plastic isn't all rotten.
I've done probably 30+ dash jobs mostly on Ford and Dodge Trucks, one 15 Tundra. I have to say the Tundra is the 2nd most complex one I've done but still not difficult, a GMC Terrain is the most complex one I've done to date.

that is horrible and i thought mid 90's ford trucks were bad enough.

though youre that deep into a vehicle you leave small items to let someone else know you were there like small dicks drawn with a paint pen to make the next persons day later

    What money?

Yeah, I’d be saddled with that job like yours truly. Thankfully, my heater core is still good. Going to give it an extra Irontite flush this weekend when I change my water pump.

Would love to get rid of this alarm system that was hacked in while I have everything torn apart.

The ones I hate are the ones that the plastic is all brittle on, filthy, or that people don't clean out all their crap and I have to clean it out to do my job.
I just dump it all in a box and they can put it back.

I'm not that kind of person, I can almost always tell where someone has been cause there's stuff broken, bolts missing/incorrect/crossthreaded, harnesses not back where they belong, connectors broken, etc.
I try to put things back so no-one knows I was there.

I never understood why some think: Well two bolts will hold it when it had 5 bolts by design ...
