    Hello -

I've got a 2010 Tacoma Double Cab TRD. Recently I've noticed a noise coming from the heater fan/blower unit under the glove box but only when the fan switch is on low. The fan works well but I'm wondering about the "cricket-like" noise that happens.
    Anybody have this problem?
    Cheers.

Mine started just doiing it on low, now it's doing it on the second setting and the noise on low is much louder. I am a procrastinator, but I finally made an appointment with the dealer for next Tuesday.

Thanks to all who responded with ideas, information, and TSB about the heater fan noise.
I'll take it in to the dealer soon.

    Cheers. :)

Took mine to the dealer today. As expected, they did not have the part. They ordered it and told me they would call when it comes in. He also mentioned that one had been on order since November and had still not come in...

My dealer ordered one on monday and i had it installed thursday morning, and this included a day and a half of the roads being almost impassable up here due to the 19" of snow we got. I would tell your dealer to call someone.

I had the same issue and found out there was a TSB. Covered under warranty and got it replaced. Now no noise.

When my '10 Tacoma Access cab was in for floor mat recall I mentioned a clicking in the heater on low speed. They reproduced and are going to replace the blower. Less than 12,000 miles

I've had 2 of the "new" parts now, I don't know what if anything they changed for there to be a TSB on it. The new one is just as craptastic as the old one. I'll about guarantee that by this time next year you'll have the same problem.

I brought mine in and they told me that I already had the new part number. They did put an insulation kit on it to hide some of the noise. I think I will try the grease idea tomorrow.

Glad to have found this sight. I've got the same issue with my 2010 Tacoma. Especially on low. Still under warranty and will be taking it back to the dealer asap.

My dealer told me the new motor has not been release from the manufacturer yet. So don't know when it will come in. It's annoying as hell.
