Ha anybody had a problem with their fan ticking while running, and squealing as it spools up or down. Mine isn't really loud, it is just kind of annoying.if my music is low all I can hear is tick, tick, tick, tick.... ...you get the point. does anybody know how to fix this??

sounds like you may have leaves built up around it and its making it uneven. you can disconnect the plug for the fan, then use a socket to remove the 3 bolts(i think its 3 anyway) and drop the fan assy out.............then you'll know if its uneven because of leaves and debris sitting on/in the cage.

sweet, I'm taking the fan apart right now, I hope it works. Last time I was @ the stealership, they told me that it was "within factory tolerances" so they didn't fix it cuz the sound wasn't loud enough.

My 07 is doing the same thing. The dealer tried to say it was the dirty filter, but the sound is still there even when the filter is removed. I'll probably try the above suggestion.

Nice. The fans are all made by a 3rd party. Like the other poster said probably delphi.

I had this same problem in my 07 Wrangler (which I sold to buy my Tacoma). I had the 1st one replaced and needed to have the 2nd one replaced too but @ 49k miles it was out of warranty and I sure as hell was not going to put another $$ in that Jeep.

All I know is that my Tacoma is 10x better thank my Jeep was. :headbang:

Mine did the same thing. I fixed it with the bolts. It eventually came back and got worse. I bought a new one. Half a year later it is ticking again. It is a piece of crap if you ask me. I put some sound insulation over it and now I cant hear the ticking anymore.

My 07 Tacoma started doing the same thing. I've read where Toyota has built a better blower model that doesn't squeak. I was able to loosen the screws in order to stop the noise. It was horribly annoying!!! Solutions like this are the main reason I joined this site. Thanks everyone.

Any information available on the better blower model? I have the ticking blower model in my 05. I'm going to try the fix described above by TacoNut, but if I could get something better I would be open to it. Thanks!
