That tool looks like a collapsed radiator tank waiting to happen. I've seen 24inches of vacuum collapse stuff. There is such a tool. As far as hose temps I digress.

I use the tool about three times a day and never once had any issues nor vehicles come back. You need to have common sense if the rad has 200k and shows signs of stress cracks or missing cooling fins then the radiator should be replaced.

May be worth looking at your radiator a little closer. I just went thru a mysterious over heating issue with my 2.7l. Threw everything at it new head, head gasket, factory head bolts, water pump, thermostat. Nothing seemed to fix it. Until one day a friend suggested to take a thermal camera, and after letting the truck run and get to operating temperature, visually inspect the heat signatures threw out the entire radiator. Come to find out the lower corner where the lower hose goes out had not temperature in it at all. Bout a new radiator and it finally fixed my issues

i just took out my heater control unit to figure out another problem. There is a cable running from above teh glovebox to below it and into the center console from underneath. look for it and follow it under the console. it should be connected to the doors.
