About a week ago, my heater system just stopped working... not the fan speed resistor (I've tested the resistor and the local dealership was nice enough to pop in a brand new one before I bought it to make sure). I've also pulled the fuses & relays in the engine fuse box and confirmed that they're working as well.

Anyone have any thoughts as to where to start looking for the problem?

EDIT 4-20: a 50a fuse under the hood was blown, and the wires going into the motor had melted the insulation off. Replace the fuse, rewrapped the wires, and the fuse blew again. Pulled the blower motor out, took it in the house and connected it up to a 9.6v dewalt battery, and the blower at least started spinning.

4-25: replaced the leads & connector for the blower motor, but still blowing fuses with everything plugged in, save for the motor. As soon as the parts store gets more fuses in, I'll see how things work without the resistor plugged in

Look at the harness where it plugs into the blower motor they melt sometimes.

@Jimmyh that's my next thought... the current harness only has a slight bit of browning, and the wires and terminals are good. I've replaced that resistor a few times and I feel like the brown spot on the harness is from a previous replacement.

Here's to hoping that AutoZone will take the heater motor back if the problem turns out to be the resistor
