Drives straight. when driving the thing sways all over the place. If i go into a corner it feels like the back end is gunna come out from under it. this is my only vehicle and i have 3 small kids. I need it to not do this. Also have a noise in front end that sounds like the tire is rubbing something but its not. Please help. At a loss here. Have 4 new 2657516 cooper st maxxs on the truck as well.

i have same suspension but i have 255/80/17 and have no rub or noise or issues with the rear. I put mine in, im assuming you did something wrong. Pics of your intall. Plus u went from a stock tire to these wider ones so the rear looseness makes no sense?

Between you describe the sway feeling and mentioning a rubbing sound it really sounds like you didn't reconnect the sway bar or the sway bar links if you disconnected then to get the CO's in and out.

Sway bar is connected. Have no idea how to upload photos from phone. I dont have a computer. Could the fact i have wide 10 ply tires on stock narrow wheels cause the sway. I didnt seem to do it till the tires and alingment happened

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
That rubbing noise may be the disc brake backing plate rubbing the disc. Take a look, find where it's touching and pull the plate inward and away from the disc - ask me how I know :D

a disconnected sway bar will not cause this... mine drives great with no sway bar.

Its in alignment. 1.7-2* is about the lower limit id allow on caster, But id bet you have zero toe, or are towed out. you want just a smidge of toe in.

And the "rubbing noise" does it go away when you pop it into 4hi? if so thats the front diff needle bearing and you will need to replace it with the East Coast Gear Supply front diff bushing.

Its not the backing plate already checked that. And i feel a good story will come out of asking how you know lol. they alinged it twice at toyota in the last 2 days. ITs maxed out for caster. If thats the case im just gunna have to deal with it till i can afford uca's.

As far as the bearing would it do this with only 19,xxx miles on it? Its a 2013

Where the steering tie rod attaches very near the backing plate is where the backing plate was just touching against the disc and just needed to be tweaked ;) a touch.

That happens to my mud/ trail truck all the time. That is when ever its running right.

Okay checked everything over took it out for a ride to figure out exactly where the sway happens. Its deff all in the rear. The front is responsive and the rear end sway all over hell. Actually set off the stability in a corner it swayed so bad. What tire pressure should i be running? At 40 right now thats what dtd told me to run them at. Had them at 35 and did the same thing. Could it be caused by reusing the u bolts?

It could be the needle bearing even at the low mileage. It has a lot of play in it and lifting really pulls down on the CV. Do the four wheel drive test to see if it's the needle bearing. Find a straight stretch of road and when you hear the rubbing sound slip it into 4x4 while coasting. If the sound goes away you found the problem.

When you hear the "rubbing noise" is there a light flashing on the dash by any chance. You could be a victim of the over sensitive post lift yaw sensor syndrome. And the sway your feeling could just be the higher center of gravity from a lifted truck.

The rubbing niose comes and goes. I will try the 4wd test next time it happens. No flashing light. The sway is all the time the rubbing noise only ever once in awhile. The sway happens when on the highway goin straight as well. The rear end just does what it wants it seems like. But as i said i didnt notice it till the new tires

I would bet on the needle bearing after your last post. Can't help in the back. All I can think of is the ubolts or something else is loose.

Is it actually swaying, or just pretty "twitchy" in the steering? As one poster said, check the toe in as it can make the vehicle drive real bad if set at 0 or any negative. Easy to do a quick check, with the front tires straight find a common spot on the tire (or use the inside edge of the rim)...measure at the same height between the front of the tire / rim and the back of the tire / rim. Normally you should be a bit narrower in the front. My lady's Subaru is terrible with this...factory calls or 0 being ok up to a set amount of toe in. Dealer set it at 0 and the car was all over the road, could hardly keep it going straight...set toe to close to the allowable max and it drives great. Same thing with my sprung over FJ-40...to little tow and it will scare the shiaaat out of you....toe it in about 1/8" andyou can take your hands off the wheel at 70 mph.
