On sunday me and overlander explored the downieville/ Gold lake area and way too much snow still. The trails are above 6500 ft and will not be thawed out till mid july if lucky. I have done most of the trails in the area and the only one difficult is snake lake. The other trails are beautiful but can be done in stock rig.

I know man I went camping last weekend and didn't have much time to look in my book. Even Signal Peak is still covered in snow If i can't find something lower we might have to run Eagle lakes and the first few miles of Fordyce trial. There is a cool camping spot at the top of Fordyce. And Signal Peak might be clear buy then but I don't know.

Yeah it's a pretty cool trail with some pretty changeling lines if you chose to take them.

Edit: I just checked and Lake Alpine is still under snow and that's the slick rock trail head so these trails are out of the question. I'm going to look at a few more but it looks like we might be doing Eagle lakes and maybe Signal Peak on this trip.

Yeah he does. Stopped him and the spotter just in time before he got on his rocker. Backed him up and chose a different line and got him up and over without incident.

Okay so Ive been reading my book and there is not many Difficult trails under 7500ft. So here are our choices we can run Eagle Lakes and try Signal Peak but Signal Peak is 7000ft so it's most likely still covered in snow. Or we can run Hell Hole and camp at the end of the trail and Sunday run the fire road back to soda springs it's at 6500ft so it should have some snow to try to get through.

What do you guys think about that?

Edit: Ive added a poll so what do you guys think?
