never played the first one.

finally hit lvl 10 in Helldivers 2... the laser rover backpack makes solo missions so much more bearable.

 

Samsies! Although it’s killed me a few times too on bad angles! Think I managed to make it to lvl 12 last night.

 

I'll be on in a little bit when I put the kiddo down for a nap; I want to hit level 30 in the next few days

i feel that. i also killed myself with the flamethrower last night. my usual dive partner is out of town for work for the next 6 wks so i have time to catch up to him (think he's lvl 18 or so). though the lvl:difficulty ratio isn't as bad as other games.

 

that stupid laser drone has killed me so many times lmao and its never mine! its always my friends drone that kills me!

what's everyone's best strategy for taking out chargers quickly??

I hit level 50 within a week of buying the game. I can tell you that "right now" nothing happens after you hit level 50 other than earning credits to spend on warbonds. I've bought every stratagem in the game but I usually stick to the same ones all the time. 90% of the time I use the Orbital Railcannon Strike (it will "almost" always target the largest enemy on the field), Obtital Laser (because it will generally wipe out most everything), Autocannon Sentry and the Rocket Sentry. The Sentries are great for throwing down at the end of a mission at choke points and makes it much easier to deal with all the enemies that come in. I never run the shield as I just don't want to take up a slot for it when I personally think there are better stratagems out there. And I can usually avoid taking a lot of damage just by diving out of the way when things get hectic. The longer you stay in a mission the more enemies you will have during extraction so the turrets come in very handy.

If I'm playing on the Automaton side then I use the Scorcher as "to me" it feels like the best weapon to deal with them. Playing on the Terminid side I still use the Breaker shotgun or maybe the Breaker Spray and Pray or Breaker Incendiary. I don't use any other weapons then those. They nerfed the original Breaker but it doesn't feel like that big of a nerf to me. Losing 3 rounds sucks but it is what it is.

I'm not a fan of the changes they have made to the game since launch. Although I never really got into the Railgun I didn't see a need for a nerf to that gun. It's a PvE game, not PvP. So what does it matter if there are a few stand out weapons? "Most" of the weapons in the game suck and you still stick to what works the best for whatever situation you find yourself in. Instead of nerfing some of the weapons, how about bringing up weapons that no one uses? That makes the most sense to me. I still love the game but I liked it a lot more before the nerfs. Right now I hate playing on the Terminid side. They have scaled up the number of bugs to a ridiculous amount. We were used to playing on level 7 so we could upgrade our ship all the way. But what are you supposed to do when 10 Bile Titans spawn? We have no counter for that. I don't mind the game being hard. In fact I want the game to be hard. But I also want it to be fair.

I "personally" think the Mech Suit is overrated (although I still use it when extracting). But it is a paper target that can't take much damage at all. You play these games to feel like you have an upper hand on "most" of the things that come your way. And I don't think it should be easy (especially at higher levels). But the Mech Suit is a letdown "to me". I don't expect it to withstand everything but damn is it easy to bring down right now. We were playing last night and one of my friends accidentally hit me with one shot from the Scorcher and the Mech Suit started smoking it took that much damage from just one shot. I'm just glad it's free right now because I'll never use it as a stratagem once it goes away (even though I bought it). I'd never take up a slot for that.

 

the rail gun was nerfed because it was to easy... even on harder difficulties when i got dragged around with friends of higher lvls it was just to easy of a weapon.... atm i see no issue with how the game is playing and prefer it to be harder and not just a simple slaughter...

 

Oh... I don't want it to be easy. I want the game to be hard. And I never really used the railgun anyway as I just found other stratatems that "I" personally like better. But there is a video floating around of a team trying to deal with 10 Bile Titans that spawned. That is just stupid to me. The changes they have made to the game (so far) have been a net negative as a whole. If it were a PvP game and you really needed weapon balance? I'd understand. But the vast majority of the time you are still going to stick with the same weapon you normally play with. Even you have to admit that more than half the weapons in the game suck and have no usefulness at all. People are still going to find a new meta to use and find a way around those nerfs. But when over half the weapons in the game actually suck? How about bringing those weapons in line with weapons that people actually use?

Not sure what level you play on but, level 7 and above suck right now. They used to be fun and challenging. It's not that we can't get a mission done on level 7 or higher. It's just kind of stupid in my opinion to nerf the tools that you actually "need" in those levels to complete them. I'm almost always against nerfs in any game. Instead of nerfing the game, how about buffing things that no one uses?
