I don't do consoles, gave away my Xbox One and PS4 some years back as really I've been a PC gamer since around '96 starting on Diablo

It delivered - I know a lot of people griped about it's repetitive nature and all but that's exactly what Diablo I and II were, clicking the same old shit over and over for cooler and better stuff

I enjoyed the story with it as well and we'll definitely see an expansion, but I kind of stopped D4 after I tired of murdering people in PvP (main was a rogue)

I still have a ton of characters that are super high paragon levels on Diablo 3 as well with some of them being Hardcore

And @theesotericone since PC's were mentioned, I might just bite the bullet on a 4770K on Ebay for the heck of it

I dug out those cards, three GTX 780 TI's just sitting there

And still got my Asus Z97 but it only supports 2-way SLI so maybe I can ask around if any friends have a 3-way SLI board

That way I'll have two old school rigs running 3-way SLI

I thought it released unpolished for as long as it was in development. That said, they certainly put in the work after release to make it pretty good. Glad I bought it but didn't invest nearly as much time as the other Diablo's

Especially true, I gave up playing D4 way sooner than D3 even

And D2 I just started playing again on one of my laptops

I think my last pc I built was an amd board from Asus and it has the 3 way video or was that just Nvidia?

Don't know about the card but it's crazy NVDA went from a niche gaming card company to the 3rd most valuable company by market cap in the US. lol

Definitely recommend Helldivers 2. It’s got a lot going for it and even more potential moving forward. Apparently they’re gonna add mech stratagems as well as larger enemies and other factions that were in the first Helldivers (never played it). Every time I play I can’t help but feel like I’m in Starship Troopers whenever I fight the Tyrannids. I’m not sure the quality of solo play on it except that it’s easy to be overwhelmed by yourself.

So, played the first mission and died a few times already

It's....different as far as most games aimed for mouse and keyboard players

Might have to play the next round on my controller after I feed the kiddo

Theres a few of us playing on PC. I played the original on ps4, and it was a blast. The game mechanics are more or less the same, but being down in the action on this one is a lot of fun. Calling in strategems has that nostalgic feel of nailing special combos in street fighter or finishing moves on mortal combat.

Its fun with friends, and randos. If you don't take the lead as the host, the highest level on your team will likely tag the next objective and keep the team rolling. If someone is being a bitch, kick em. Snag all the samples, doesn't matter who on the team gets em as long as they extract. hit as many objectives as you can, but don't get caught up in lengthy battles on the shorter maps like destroying bot/bug hives.

I am a little bummed they didn't include the third faction, the illuminates, in the base game and that's going to be released later. They had walls and shields, and one enemy in particular could flip your controls so you run around like chicken with its head cut off.

Each faction needs different strategems to win, especially as you get to higher level dives. What works on bugs won't necessarily work on bots or illuminates.

The only other thing I dislike is the auto reinforce on co-op when you're down to the last team member. In the original, you either got your ball off and saved the team, or you failed. I'm fine with it when you're soloing, but theres was something so epically heroic in the original about running around and with a swarm of enemies chasing you and diving into an expertly executed up down left right up as a bug claw massacres you but you still miraculously manage to call the team in. There was also no limit on reinforcements or cool down as long as you're within the time limit for the mission.

I dont think the original got the credit it deserved, so I am glad to see HD2 get the attention. They've had some struggles with launch, but overall it's a solid game.

    See you out there soldiers.
