Mouse definitely allows more flickable aiming. I kill plenty of them, but when I have 2-3 of them I can't always kill them and get the nest. I guess I could bring more turrets, but I usually don't. If I know I'm going to die I will do a grenade dump and cook my last one as I go down. 6 'nades does a lot of work even if I'm on my way out.

Do want to add I'm far from good myself; I don't play 7s or above which I know are significantly harder (have tried 7s, too much noise for me lol)

But it's fairly easy to avoid getting killed by several types of enemies knowing their mechanics

we actually got pretty lucky. we landed near the stalker lair and took it out within the first minute of the game.
i'm kinda the same on mouse and keyboard, though i haven't mastered it as i played 80% on controller until this game. the game definitely prioritizes the "keep moving" aspect that i'm still getting used to, it reminds me of Doom 2016/ Eternal except in a wide-open space. i still get blindsided by chargers every time they're on the map, but i agree in having that ADHD/ situational awareness. it can save your life! and by extension-- democracy!

I need to start adding some of you guys on Steam when I get time to play this evening. Usually I just jump into quickplay for a couple rounds but it's more fun with friends.

Little known fact and 6 degrees of separation...

On the "recruitment video" for the game, the man who you see is my voice acting coach I've worked with for the past 4 years. His name is Craig Lee Thomas and does a lot of video game work (as well as voice acting, on screen, and you name it)....this one was MOCAP and it's amazing cause I know his facial expressions, movements, etc. and the MOCAP nailed it to a T.

Now that's awesome! Tell him he did great! The cheese of the initial nit, especially the shocked/horrified facial expressions was epic.

Yeah dude I don't know if I can play with you anymore; most of your playing was done via controller, and as a PC user?!

That's heresy at the highest level :luvya:

Cool! First time I saw that intro I thought it might be Ross Patterson (Gene Vandenham in Range 15). This dude.

I've just always hated being limited to lower resolutions and frame caps

I hate the price of PCs, the never ending bogging down because it's used for more than just a game, and I despise keyboard and mouse.

Haven't bought one in over 20 years! Just components for building my own.

I loooove me a keyboard and mouse, hell even my Xbox Elite controller collects dust :anonymous:

Yeah, but what's the $$$ total over 20 years? I bet it's less than the two consoles I've had.

Xbox controllers suck, like most things microshaft.

Hmmm...I can't really remember that far back (during my Counterstrike days) but we'll touch on the last 15 years of PC's

The one posted on page 4 is 16 years old and still runs my old school games at Ultra settings, some at 1080P and very few at 1440P

Then I've still got my 2013 build that runs everything the 2008 build can't, on Ultra settings at 1440P mind you; only thing I did to bring it back to life as I had dismantled it years ago was buy a new case, SSD, and cpu cooler -

    20240307_121753.jpg

Then there's that 6700K build with 1080TI's that actually replaced the build above, but I sold it as I've got too many extra PC's and parts

We all want to upgrade sure, but there's no reason why many old PC's can't hang today and still bring console-level graphics (or better) which is why I still own these beasts; really it's for nostalgic reasons but still!

Only downfall with the above PC's are that the GPU's aren't DirectX12 compatible but that's why I've got my modern PC.

You can do more than just gaming on a PC! And the graphics will always be better than a console! Not to mention you can keep an old PC for a long time, generally longer than an old console.

But yes, consoles do offer a huge convenience (from a gaming standpoint) and are less expensive.

When launched both the PS4 and PS5 performance could not be matched for the price in a PC. That's my point. I get a decade of good use for $500-$600 one time. That puts a 20 year console budget at what some graphics cards alone cost.

PCs doing more than just gaming is a net negative to me. It causes problems if you aren't techy and working on your computers. I like playing games, I don't like fixing the system the game runs on.

Yep; I acknowledged that consoles are cheaper and added that they're convenient. However I think there have been nVidia 1660 builds that are at the same pricepoint of a PS5 offering better graphics? Think there's a ton of info on those budget builds.

But I definitely cannot agree on the 'fixing the system' aspect :boink:

Once said PC is built, from a hardware standpoint it's left alone for a long time

I also use my PC's for stuff like CAD and everything else so yeah not applicable to you.
