This is my very first Toyota! I have never owned a truck nor a Toyota before, so this is all new to me. :)

I am a lifelong Ford Mustang enthusiast and I have owned many Mustangs since 1987. You cut me, I bleed Ford blue! HOWEVER, since Ford dropped the Ranger a couple of years ago they didn't have any appealing options for me when it came time to "be practical" and get a truck. I like the F150, but it is TOO...DAMNED...BIG... not to mention extremely pricey for what you get. The optioned F150 I wanted with all of the bells and whistles MSRP'd for $49k! (not that I would pay MSRP, but that's another topic) Since Ford was out, I will NEVER own a crappy GM product (upcoming Colorado/Canyon), Fiatsler reliability still a question (do they still make the Dakota?), that left me with one idea... I need something smaller.

Sooooo... what to look for in a "compact" truck? That leaves Toyota and Nissan. (Honda Ridgeline is NOT a truck and doesn't count. Not to mention I find it repulsive looking. And Hondas all crash anyway.)

Nissan trucks looked to crude for me. I don't like the fender flares and their interior just seemed a little TOO 1980s for my taste. That left Toyota...

Test drove the SR5 4 banger automatic. Hoo boy that was SLOWWWWW... BTW, 1990 called and wanted their 4 speed automatic back! That bad boy went straight back to the dealer lot after my test drive and was promptly forgotten. I then set my sights on the V6 (automatic only... damn Toyota for dropping the Xrunner). Had a blast on the test drive and ended up taking the truck home that night!

V6, automatic, PreRunner with the TRD Offroad package. I added OEM running boards and swapped out all of the light bulbs for LEDs a couple of days later. Isn't she a beauty?

Next up! Bought a Pop and Lock for the tailgate, and will be seeing about the Gentex GENK50A Homelink/Temp/Compass (why didn't these things come stock! I didn't get the cheapo truck here!) mirror. Also, I am intrigued about the Lifetime LED headlights, that might be a possible future mod.

Looking forward to hanging out with you folks and learning a thing or two about Tacos!

Congrats on the purchase. Pop and lock is a great purchase and has the potential to save you a lot of money, especially if your tailgate has a back up cam. As far as the mirror goes mine came stock with all the stuff you are referring too and an option to use it with the backup cam, which I use the deck for. I think it depends on the package you pick up.
